Alright, so here's the best part about this recipe. It started out with me trying to make a Vanilla Base (I think I've done it) but I have to say, it's probably my favorite cream/custard vape that I've ever had. No added fruits or stuff, just creams and custard.

  • 25% PG (your choice obv.)
  • CAP Vanilla Custard - 5% (V1 or V2)
  • TPA Vanilla Swirl - 15%
  • TPA French Vanilla Deluxe - 10%
  • FA Vienna Cream - 10%
  • TPA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - 5%
  • TPA Vanilla Custard - 5%
  • TPA Bavarian Cream - 15%
  • FA Catalan Cream - 10%
It is an excellent standalone vape Mixed 40/60 PG/VG @ 10%.

Breaking this down to just a recipe to use, simply move the decimal point over to the left by one digit and ignore the PG.

So, for those of you not familiar with the idea of a base, mix those together and then use that as a new flavor to mix with.

I have not yet started using it as a base (on the agenda for tomorrow if the wife allows me, otherwise Sunday). Enjoy potential the first cream I could ever use as an ADV. The Catalan Cream works wonders in this recipe.

Edit: As with all of my recipes, I don't test them immediately after mixing. Everything gets shaked well first, then heated to 135F (candle warmer), then shaken again, then it sits overnight with the cap off.

Botboy141, as per your recipe, I was going to ask around for a good custard that was reasonably priced when I saw this. Problem is I've never made my own juice and don't even know what CAP, TPA, VA etc. means. Can u recommend some learning materials so I can hopefully try your recipe? I vape Mt Baker Gwary4 which has a nice vanilla, caramel flavor. I was considering Granny's Custard by Annamae but I suck down about 5mls a day and it's getting expensive. Wizard Labs is the only thing I know about obtaining certain ingredients. Any help on DIY or opinions on affordable custard flavors(since u seem to like them)would be appreciated. Thanks. By the way, just looking at ur recipe makes my mouth water!

I was looking thru the Reddit recipes of the month and Batboy has some pretty sick recipes out there. I think he's gonna give HIC a run for his money. :) He's come up with several different stone bases. The fruitstone is very intriguing.

Are you guys talking about the milkstone?!? Just curious because you make it sound horrible. I love all the flavors that go into it and was considering making a 15ml bottle of it.

I've tried milkstone, milkstone 2.0 and have my own milkstone 2.5 recipe. I also developed a Fruitstone, not perfect but good for now.

Milkstone v1.0 is ok at best. The coconut kinda makes it meh to me personally.

As far as bavarian cream, I've honestly never tried it standalone, I know right?

It just mixes soooo good!

That makes more sense to me. Who doesn't like Bavarian Cream?

For the record, just tried my first few uses of this as a base (as intended) instead of just a standalone flavor.

First one is super simple:

Vanilla Leche V0.1
  • Vanilla Cream Base (10%)
  • TPA Dulce de Leche (5%)
Will let it sit awhile as Dulce de Leche never tastes quite right to me even after a hot water bath. I've honestly never used TPA's in something that tasted good to me but other people seem to like it.

Second...needs a new name as this isn't quite PC but it works :)

Racist V0.1
  • Vanilla Cream Base (10%)
  • TPA Double Chocolate Clear (4%)
  • Caramel Candy (2%)
Very simple. I expect the latter to be absolutely delicious after a 1 week steep, not so sure on Vanilla Leche.

Will continue to post reviews and comments on any recipes I try with this new base in this thread to avoid clutter. Obviously, will do reviews on these once they've had some steep time.

I was also thinking of using this Vanilla Cream/Custard Base in a Blueberry Waffle Mix.

If I was using TPA Waffle and FA Bilberry, what percents do you guys think might be a good launching point? I'm terrible with desserts unless they are like just straight creams fwiw.

dulce de leche...

i do not use it over 2% as it tends to take over everything.

Good to know. I'll whip up another version of that at 2%. Maybe that's why I've never really had success with it (only tried it in recipes from others) and the level was always relatively high, like 5-10% and I was like wtf this is terrible lol.

I agree with smokey. Ill do 2-3% max on the dulce and let it steep as long as i can hold out lol. I usually mix it with other high diacetyl type flavors :)

Going 2% then I guess and throwing it in the closet. Will come back to it in a week at the earliest and see what happens.

I'd start that at around .5% and go up..

it's a nicer version of caramel..

Yea, see. It was the dulce de leche that got my attention in Annmae's Granny's Gourmet Custard. This conversation is flippin my wig

So this recipe is for a Vanilla Cream/Custard base? Pretty much creating it as a stand alone flavor?

Correct, created it as a base so I could work off of it with a few different flavor profiles.

Since this has floated back to the top, I was wondering -- are you basically using this as a replacement for Milkstone v1 (the cream version)?

Hey Botboy, thanks very much for posting this!

After an unexpected one week delay, I finally started my DIY adventure yesterday with a very simple single-concentrate mix. Today I plan to try some more complex recipes, and especially to mix a batch of your custard base.

I did all my purchasing a week and a half ago, when your thread was near the top of this forum, and it was very important in my purchasing process; I purchased everything in this recipe before I bought anything else :) Custards are my absolute favourite and I couldn't resist the opportunity of a 'best custard'!

I'm going to mix it up today, and hopefully try it for the first time tomorrow.

You mentioned in your OP that at the time of posting, you were shortly planning to start testing this as a base? I was wondering if that happened and if so if you have any further thoughts? What did you try mixing it with and how did it go? And are you still using this same base recipe?

And a final question, you mention that the 25% PG in the base is "your choice" - why might I want to change that?

I plan to just follow all recipes 100% for a while, until I've got the hang of this, so I will start with 25%. I'm mostly asking just to understand a bit better what sort of factors decide things like that. I assume in this case that I would put less than 25% PG in the base if I wanted a stronger base, and more if I wanted it a bit weaker? Though of course I could also control that in the final mix, by using more or less than the 10% you recommend..?

Anyway thanks again for what looks to be an amazing recipe - can't wait to try it!

@TheBloke Did you like it and did you ever hear anything from Botboy141? I bought all the flavors and I plan on making this soon. I would love to hear the answers to all of your questions.

gidday Botboy.. was reading your recipe above, 10% dulce d.dl will totally overpower everything, anything over 2% is prob too much. also 10% catlin imo will kill a juice, again id go for the 2% range on this flav, bav cream im not so sure on in this kind of mix.. i know if you use bav cream with fruit i wouldn't go over 2%cause it starts to mute other flavors. im no expert mixer and this is just my opinion on the flavor combinations going into this recipe.. i could be wrong but just chucking my thoughts out there fyi.. live good vape on!!!

This is not a recipe, mate, it's a flavoring base. If you didn't notice, the flavoring percentages add up to 100%. You mix this up as indicated, and then you use it like a concentrated flavoring, you don't vape it directly. Botboy is an experienced mixer with his own juice line and he's quite talented, so I can assure you he knows what he's doing. Hope that clarifies things for you.

If you want to vape it standalone, you can mix the finished base at 10% into a juice, so to calculate the actual percentages of flavoring you'd have in the finished juice, you would divide the given %s in the recipe by 10.

You could normalize the percentages so that you get 100% flavors and don't add any extra PG to the base. Many calculators can do that for you, I can post the new percents if you need it. The only real reason to normalize it to higher strength would be if you are trying to make very high VG juice. Using the posted base recipe at 10% standalone as suggested, and with pure VG nic base, you would get a 10/90 mix. If you add another 10% of other PG flavors up to a total of 20% you could still get a 20/80 mix. With a normalized percents base version, you would use 7.5% to get the equivalent of the posted mix and you could get mixes of 7.5/92.5 as a standalone. You could also add more of any other flavors at higher percentages and still get a higher VG mix. Do you really need higher strength? One reason he mentions why he mixed it with some PG is it makes the math easier, where if you want you can just use the posted numbers divided by 10 in a manual mix and that will give you 7.5% pure Creamstone in your final mix, which would be the equivalent of using 10% of the 'diluted' version.

For those that had been asking, I never really did get around to playing with this too much as a base.

My person favorite combination was this including 1% CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl with the base being used around 11% in the mix. Yum yum yum is all I can say.

Coming up soon on the agenda is the use of FW Salted Caramel.

I also want to try salted caramel + marzipan + bourbon/whiskey....

Not true if you clean your coils with an air brush cleaning brush kit .... Small soft brushes to clean out air brushes found in most hobby shops near the paint

In my experience the salted caramel that I got from mbv was a coil destroyer. Clean em daily they gunk quick! Super viscous and hard on coils.. kanthal is cheap but nickle and titanium isn't and it ate those up!
