vanilla custard

What's up everyone? I'm kinda new to diy and have only been doing it a couple months and am yet to find an exact reciepe that I'm looking for so that I can have an ADV to always fall back on while other recipes are in the works. All i need is a simple flavorful vanilla custard. I've researched and researched and sometimes feel I've found one only to read others comments on it and about how they didn't like or agree with it. So it's kind of frustrating. I mixed up a 15% caps vc and 2% tpa DLL last night. But I need something that's sweet and smooth all the way thru. Any help would be appreciated. I have caps french vanilla, caps vanilla custard, tfa vanilla swirl, tfa Bavarian cream, tfa sweet cream, tfa sweetener, tfa DLL, fa marshmallow, and fa Vienna cream. Any help would be appreciated?

There is a pretty decent recipe somewhere here on the forum, but I couldn't find it after looking again. It's simple to make using only two ingredients. 7.5% CAPS Vanilla Custard and 2% TFA Dulce De Leche. If I find it, I'll post the link as I recall it being in a thread with other custard recipes. Keep in mind that most custard mixes, including this one, need at least a couple of weeks of aging before they start tasting good so if you're looking for an ADV until you work out some other mixes that you like you'll need to take the time of aging into consideration for custards.

I haven't tried any of these, myself, but people seem to like them

Grant's Vanilla Custard Clone

15% capella vanilla custard
2% TFA Dulce de leche

/u/UltimateOreo posted this Gremlin Juice Clone at reddit:

Vanilla Custard (CAP) 12%
French Vanilla (CAP) 5%
Bavarian Cream (TFA) .6%
Sweet Cream (TFA) .4%
Malted Milk (TFA) .4%
Graham Cracker (TFA) .2%
Cake(Yellow) (FW) .2%

@Navymr posted this:

Navymr's ADV Vanilla Custard

10% Capellas Vanilla Custard
4% TFA Vanilla Custard
5% TFA Dulce De Leche
6% TFA French vanilla Deluxe

Hopefully those will at least give you some ideas--good luck.

This is the one I was talking about, except someone cut the vanilla custard in half and said there was no difference after aging and using half is the one I tried also.

Imma mix up the 15% vc and 2 % DLL. So can I take ur word for it being a good smooth vanilla custard and mix up a big bottle so I want run out once it steeps? Any suggestions on the steep?

I can't speak for the 15% VC mix because I used only half at 7.5%, but in this thread (post #7) http://vapingunderground.com/threads/looking-for-a-good-vanilla-custard-recipe.3099/ @Passunca seems to have tried both and claims there is no difference after steeping. I let the mix I made steep on a shelf in my closet for 17 days before trying it and it is nice and smooth with good flavor vaped at 15-25 watts - .5 ohms using the RBA in a kanger subtank mini. I haven't tried vaping it in my Atlantis 2, but I would assume it would be very nice in that also after finding the best wattage to vape it. I think the flavor might be too muted if vaped in something like a Nautilus tank, but I haven't tried so I could be completely wrong and your mileage may vary as for watts to vape at and tanks to use.

EDIT: By the way. I've also tried this one posted by the author on kritikalmass and it is very good. The French Vanilla adds a nice mellow vanilla flavor. http://www.kritikalmass.net/proddetail.asp?prod=Grants-Vanilla-Custard-2

You can play around with all the flavors you have starting with caps vc as the primary around 12% and some of those recipes look like a good start but for a one shot deal try mama j's game over custard concentrate. One flavor, add base, shake, vape :)

Later, add some strawberry, maybe FW butterscotch to GOC.

I often find myself vaping a mix of 10-12% caps vc v1 and like 1-2% fa Vienna cream and 1-1.5% fa vanilla classic but you could use the vanilla swirl I think it's a good vanilla flavor as well. It's a basic vanilla custard recipe that is quite good and easy to throw together.
Oh yea also I would discourage you from trying mamajs game over custard because you might find yourself hopelessly addicted to it. But if you want to throw caution to the wind and try it you might find that it's one of the best custards on this planet imo

I'mma try a few different mixes with all of the above. Also mama js lol do you still have to steep mama js though and is it still good mixed at max vg?

In my experience, it's good right away, good after a steep, and it's good at max vg. As far as I can tell, you really can't mess it up. (I've tried a few times :))
