Vapeston Ceramikas - Temp Control

Hey all, I just thought I'd share something I discovered about a week ago. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke. You may have heard of a recently released tank called the Vapeston Ceramikas. It's the 3rd tank from Vapeston which in it of itself is a really nice tank. It took me a bit of time to perfect the top fill, but once I got the hang of it it's become my favorite tank.

The big "spin" on this tank though is the new ceramic coils. Basically, they're kanthal coils that are encased in food grade ceramic. I have been very impressed with the vapor production and the flavor. The claims on 2-3 months of lifespan though I think are optimistic but we'll see.

My big gripe with the coil though was that the initial hit took a while to warm up. Once you got it going it was great for chain vaping, so long as the wattage was kept down or it quickly got too hot. Well staring at it last week I thought, why not try this thing in Ti mode on the Cuboid I was testing (it is a .3 ohm coil). I didn't expect it to work, but it does; beautifully at that. I've tried it now on the Cuboid and the eVic VT and get the same results (not surprising). Running in Ti mode at 120W & 400-450'F. The coil heats up immediately but then the TC mode keeps it from getting too hot. I doubt that it's holding the temp specified per say, but it does work wonderfully.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share for those of you who have Ti compliant MODs. I've tried the Ceramikas coils in an original Vapeston Maganus with this same setup and it works perfectly as well.

What? no love for this? Well I am loving this alot.
The coil heats up quickly and is WAY better vapor and flavor than using in wattage mode.
Thanks for posting this, I couldn't remember exactly what you told me to try when we were in chat that day.
VAPE ON!

First off I want to thank RBVapes for putting the idea in my head to use this tank/coil in TC mode.
I'm not trying to hijack this thread BUT since this thread is about this tank I wanted to expound. Tonight DJLsb Vapes put out a video:
(Vapeston 0.3ohm FGCC) see 59:14 in that video. I have some additional info that may be of interest to everyone that's using these coils. IF you have a mod that you can set up custom TCR the value for Tungsten is 0.00450 BUT after some testing, I have noticed vast improvement using 0.00500 TCR with 120W and 470F on my cuboid. If you can't set up TCR values on your mod just use Ni or Ti and adjust the temperature according to taste.
This is an awesome tank and coil that I wanted to make sure that everyone who has one can have this info.
Discuss and rejoice.

Thanks for this info.
I've been wanting to try ceramic coils for a while now but so far each one seems to have issues of some sort.
I may just take the plunge on this one and see how I like it.
It's been difficult trying to find something that produces more flavor than my (in order of personal preference of flavor production) Herakles, TFV4, or Crown.
The Herakles with the .6 coil is the best flavor producer I have found at 53 watts (for my particular overly sweet flavor)
The TFV4 is also great but due to the super sweet, if I don't take extremely hard hits on it, it'll burn the coil in a day or two.
We all know these cost too much for that type of life span.
Sure, I should switch to something that isn't as sweet but I'm going to vape what tastes best....unfortunately that comes with drawbacks. haha
The Crown is indeed great, just not as great as everyone tries to make it out to be. Well, at least not compared to the Herakles.
Maybe this is all due to the specific flavor I use, maybe not.
Anyways, I think I'll try out this Ceramikas to see what it has to offer in TC mode with the ceramic coil.
Looking forward to it.

It's DJLSB that makes me hesitant to try ceramic. He had a Vaporesso coil break up and he inhaled the ceramic particles. Apparently it made him very sick and was hospitalized as a result. I don't know all the fine details but Daniel is one of the few reviewers that I actually trust. I know there were some recent test done but they did not inspire confidence, at least for me.

This looks like a cool tank to try out. And I love the fact that it's simple with the disposable coils.

Right now I'm running a press tc 75. Do you think that's enough power to run this?

The website says 20-160 watts. I'm not sure what the optimal wattage is but it sounds like it should work. I imagine it would run your battery down pretty quick.

Good point. Probably have to walk around with two extra 18650's in my pocket lol

Unless I'm carrying something like my snow wolf or RX200 (which is becoming more frequent these days) I always have a plastic case with 2 18650's on me or in the wife's purse.

At times like this you have to love the wife travelling with us. Those purses really come in handy hahahaha

Edit - I'm totally down to get a bigger mod. But travelling around with it is a pain.

It's one of the benefits of being married. My wife's purse houses all kinds of my stuff. Batteries, tanks, spare mods, magazines, snacks... She hates it, I love it. If only fanny packs didn't have such a negative social stigma attached to them.

It is a pain to lug a bigger mod around but it's nice to be able to go a good portion of the day at high watts and not have to constantly be switching out batteries or looking for a place to charge. I really wish batteries manufactures would step it up and make some quality 26650's.

My wife is not a fan of carrying my stuff in her purse. That said there is no way I'm going to carry her purse lol.

I totally agree with you on the higher wattage and not having to charge and carry batteries is a plus. The reality is I will get another bigger mod and chances are it will just roll with me when I have to go out.

I recently made the switch to external IMR batteries. Prior to this I had a 50 watt eleaf Istick. The reason why is say this is that I have no knowledge about the 26650 batteries. Any knowledge you have is greatly appreciated

Edit - my apologies on high jacking the thread from the original purpose.

Yeah in the beginning of the video and he showed the Target ccell coils were the ones with the problem.

Years ago I got a messenger bag from my bank, they were giving them out to people coming in the door...well anyway it says CITIZENS BANK on the front and is awesome for carrying all my vape gear and more. When I need to carry stuff I throw that sucker over my shoulder and walk proud. Man purse my wife says. Screw Stigma LOL. Only one time did some guy say something about it to me and I replied "how else am I supposed to conceal a handgun with shorts and a tee shirt on. He kept walking.

Nothing wrong with messenger bags or backpack. I'm talking about these...

For the TFV4, have you tried the new Beast Coils, such as the TF-T4 quad Clapton, or the TF-T8 octuple Clapton? I've had a TF-T4 going for over 2 weeks now, and that's with sweet juice. Due to the price, I buy them individually, though online because the local shops usually don't have these. Better flavor and much cooler vape than the regular Q4 quad coil. Starts to come alive around 95w.

As for og Herakles, it still gets the most use, out of many.
Thanks for this info.

As for tfv4, I have new Beast TF-T4 Clapton coil, and its been going for over 2 weeks with sweet juice. Still cool at 95w, plenty of clouds, flavor better than Q4 but not quite Herk 0.6.

Also trying Playboy Vixen 0.2 in Atlantis v2 and compatible, including Herakles and Starre. Not sure how long it lasts, since only screwed it in last night. Bigger clouds than others I've tried for these. Flavor not quite Herk 0.6 but good. Better than Atlantis 0.3.

Curious about Tobeco Super Tank coils for these, and also the Vaporesso cCell coils. Not sure how the cCell work in the Herakles but for $15 per pack, easy enough to try ceramic in that tank too.
