Vaping for a week w/ Tesla Two Sub Mod & 3 different tanks. HELP

I've only been vaping for a week. I started out with Tesla Two Sub Mod & Innokin iClear30s 2.1 Ohm tank. I purchased the the Tesla Two Sub Mod at a convenience store because of it's size, inexpensiveness (under $30) and a friend said I needed at least 70 watts. I hated the iClear30s because it's like trying to drink a McDonald's milkshake through a coffee stirrer but that was the only tank available where I bought the mod. After that, I bought a KangerTech Aero Tank for e-liquid (I think is also 2 Ohms). Air flow is a little better but not much. Now, I have the .5 Ohm Innokin iSub Tank that is reviewed in your video. Air flow is much better but it sounds like bacon sizzling when I hit it and it leaves a burning sensation in the back of my throat. I'm a 30+ year smoker of more than a pack/day trying to kick cigarettes and be around a little longer for my wife and daughter but this is not easy. I don't care about monster clouds. I just want something to take the edge off while I transition from smoking. Am I doing something wrong?

What nic level is your juice?

That device has some protections built in, but I would suggest a regulated device for that tank. You should consider an rba/rda for your Tesla. Your local vape store probably has a bunch or them, and would build a coil for you. Curious who sold a new vaper an unregulated mod?

I'm going to shop around this weekend to see what I can find. I may end up shelving every I bought so far and get an entirely new setup. As for who sold it to me; As I stated, I got it from a convenience store I stopped at for gas late one night. I saw they had a bunch of e-liquids, pen type e-cigs and 4 or 5 of these Tesla mods. The price was right (so I thought) and I bought it.

Wow, had no idea they were selling that type at the convenience stores now:eek:
The gas station by my house had a sign at the pumps that was advertising full lines of IPV, Kanger, joyetech, etc. Still have not checked out the selection but from the looks of the sign it's more than just pens and such.

I also suggest getting a regulated mod and with sub ohming you may find the nic giving you a harshness to the vape. Most sub ohm vapers use 3 -6 mg nic. That being said you may find you need the higher nic at first to help get you off the cigs but you will get a harsher hit. The Airo tank is a fine tank but it's a mouth to lung tank and will have a tighter draw while the iSub is more of a direct lung hitter so it will have more air flow. Some sizzling noise from a sub ohm tank is normal as long as it's not tasting burnt or spitting hot juice in your mouth.

There is a bit of a learning curve with vaping but don't let that put you off. We all started out the same so feel free to come here and ask questions. Most of us feel that vaping got us off cigs and possibly saved our lives (I do) so were always willing to help out.

BTW welcome to the VU.

The Tesla 2 is actually a pretty nice device. It is designed more for the seasoned vape enthusiast. Just want you to vape safe.:).

Pretty crazy, right?

I live in a pretty rural area and the gas station and dollar store are the closest stores to us, everything else a good 30 miles away. It would be great if they had decent prices and selection. I'll go by there tomorrow and check it out.

While that iSub tank is probably salvageable, the coil likely isn't - get yourself some better liquid either from a real vape store (prohibitively expensive) or online (you're going to take a shot in the dark at flavors), and try running closer to 20-30 watts for starters on a new coil. The biggest improvement you can make is in the mod department, where you're going to want something you can adjust your wattage on...lots of 50-75 watt beginner options out there now, I'm not going to present a bias but would suggest you do a little window-shopping and come back with a few favorites before you pull the trigger.
