Vaping in an apartment complex - need advice!

Hello fellow vapers. Needing your advice.
I live in an apartment complex as a tenant and was curious to know HOW YOU VAPE in your apartment complex (strata complex)..

Any type of smoking or vaping seems to be frowned upon (lot of retirees in the complex) here.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO VAPE WHILE LIVING IN AN APARTMENT WITHOUT ANNOYING THE NEIGHBOURS?

Is there a discreet way to do this besides having the VapeNut being turned on in the laundry/bathroom?
Would like some ideas, tips, advise on this as I feel trapped & unable to vape when I need/would like to.

Why not run the air filter? Don't have a cloud fest, stay away from stinky liquids and I can't imagine anyone knowing. I vape in my sister's house where she complained about smoking in her garage.

Hard wired smoke detectors are a different story. The only way I could cook when I lived in an apartment was to bag the smoke detector. That was long before vaping and I smoked in the apartment so I don't imagine vaping would've been a problem. They just hung the detector above the kitchen. But smoke detectors are a potential issue with vaping.

Why not just open a window and stand at the window when vaping, or just do it outside. I dont see what harm it does if youre in your own apartment, However, if its in your Lease then you will have to make allowances for that.

Got kids at home so out the window isn't an option. I usually hide away to vape from kids. No smoking on lease. Might need to invest in a quiet air filter system. Know where I can get one? Cheers.

If you're vaping MTL I would not worry about it at all. MTL does not put off enough vaper to travel to another apt or set of smoke detectors.

If someone would happen to smell it... just tell them it's air freshener

Forget about smoking and consider how vaping is perceived in your country. Here vaping is not considered smoking but it is regulated in my the same way.

We have a no smoking policy as well. I went in the office and asked about vaping, and they allow it, as long as you don't fog up the whole block. It was surprising because living in California I thought I'll be shot the moment I even say vape lol. Smoking is absolutely not tolerated here.

However I don't vape inside my apartment because I hate cleaning my windows every day but I vape on my balcony and no issues with that, when I'm at home.

Maybe ask before camping in the laundry room? Lol

I found that an optical smoke detector can be set off with vapor but none I own will go off from vapor because I tested them and can blow clouds directly into them~!

After I posted I looked them up a bit. The ones at work and my home must be ionization alarms. Plus the distance matters as well. I had a discussion recently at work with a facilities guy who said I could set the alarm off by vaping. I disagreed but he's right.

I actually did but I'm not sure if its a regular or optic or whatever else lol. Then again the room wasn't that big to begin with and we were vaping with 3 people in there, however from now on my friend uses a fan every time we visiting lol

Living in apartment as well. I vape in ours. There was no "no smoking" clause in the agreement, as far as I'm aware. I do see a lot of our neighbors going out on their stoops to smoke though. Of course, my 'block' / building has some families with kids and some elderly & either one might cause the stoop smoking.

Being in West Virginia, not sure they could enforce no smoking in apartments. Although the previous next door neighbor got booted out in part due to smoking. It was not regular tobacco smoking though. The previous next door neighbor also was loud, had a lot of domestic violence stuff going on. Glad in a small measure they're now gone.

I do the housework ergo will be the one wiping down walls, windows, the two mirrored bathroom medicine cabinets. So far, not noticed that the VG or PG has actually settled too much. The apartment does have forced / central air and good venting too, that probably helps.

I also have to stay back six foot from my CPAP & now the O2 that I need of a night with the vaping. That for me isn't much of an issue though. Only run those during slumber. I like to get two to four hours per 24, you pick the hours. *grin*

Then too, I can sleep on my feet and doing stuff, once slept while tending to gelding some steer. that lasted until one decided upon being a joker. He looked afterwards when he realized I didn't get mad. Gave him a swat on the rump open handed, went about business and then shooed him on & dozed back off.

Well, need to holler at a brother then get gone again. Excuse me.

People have at vape convention hotels.
I haven't, mine's battery hasn't been plugged in forever. I doubt it does optical but it doesn't allow cooking or toast (or smoking). The apartment's hard wired one probably would do optical if they had them back then and surely they've upgraded since.

Optical is older technology and if I am not mistaken most new units are both Optical and Ionization Type. I could be wrong though because being the home owner has it's benefits and drawbacks.

I totally get that everyone has a right to not smoke or be around it if they dont want to be, BUT, in the last 10 years we have hit a point somewhere down the line, where smokers and vapists are demonised and the NON smoker has more rights than the smoker, this really pisses me off, Surely, in 2018, everybody is supposed to have equal rights, and the right to choose to smoke or vape, or not to?, yet it seems, the smokers and vapers are having those rights taken away from them daily, this is especially noticible in the Police State formerly known as the United Kingdom.

Yes, was at my bed. Forgot my detected was right above me. Guess enough vapor got in the sensor and set it off at 3am haha

How far away is it from you? Do you know the type of alarm? Were you blowing average or large clouds?
What was the Pg/Vg ratio? I'm curious.

I used to live in an 800 square foot condo that was essentially an apartment with a name change and a deed. if you cooked eggs without the vent hood running the detectors would go off and never once did vaping trigger it. I presently very regularly work in data centers and other areas with Halon fire suppression systems which are very sensitive and we have filled those rooms ceiling to floor with clouds and never triggered one.

Same with travelling. Not once in all the many,many nights of being in a hotel and vaping has anyone ever once noticed.

I don't have problems when I am vaping in the apartment. After it, I open the window and ventilate the room and all is normal. It depends on your neighbors, if you are in not good relations with them, go outside and smoke. If you are not afraid, smoke in it and don't panic, everything will be normal. I live in doorman apartments central queens and I don't have problems with neighbors, quiet and green zone. I love it. I will live here all my life. Now I don't have my own apartment but after a time I will take one because I don't want to leave this zone.
