Hello, hoping you all can help me with something, maybe a problem, maybe not. I've contacted the company and they responded, but I want to check with the community. This is my new setup:

Vaporflask Classic by Vape Forward
Sense Herakles Plus sub ohm tank
.2ohm Ni coils
Vape to Lung
Firing at 43 watts, ~450F limit temp control.

Everything will be fine, I'm vaping away like I do all day, and then all of a sudden the vape 'production' winds down to almost nothing when I hit the button and then it gives the "temp to high" warning almost immediately. I will leave it alone for a few minutes, come back and hit the fire button, and within 1 second (~1/4 lung full) the same warning will flash. I've then tried taking the coil out and putting it back in (for the device to essentially reset its settings on that coil); then the device will power normally and I get a full lung hit, only then to have this same thing happen later in the day.

The company said: "your wattage is too high for the temperature. You either need to lower the wattage, raise the temperature, or both."

That sounds fine, except the device range is supposed to be 200-600F and 1-150w. I'm only going at 1/3 of the max wattage and yet still hitting the temp limit fairly quickly when this happens. What would happen when its set for over 100 watts? My question is, is this fine, or could there be something wrong with the device/tank/settings? What are any other concerns or compliments about the device? Thanks to all who respond.

I'ts not the device, the device is working fine. it's probably the low resistance NI coil. Try with a lower wattage and see what you get. If your coil is too hot, it won't fire. chain vaping also might not give it proper time to wick and it won't fire when the coil is too dry

Your Ni200 .2 coil is rated for 212° - 575° F and best if used at about 26 - 38 watts at your desired temp based on my log files.

Is that a device that needs you to lock the resting resistance to get a consistent TC vape?

When in TC mode (I use 40W). With both mod and tank at room temperature, you want to "lock the resistance" by pressing the down button and firing button at the same time until you see the ohms symbol turn into a padlock symbol. The down button is the closest one to the micro USB plug. If you do not "lock the resistance" that vapor tapering off effect you seem to be getting will be noticeable.
What exactly is the message it gives? "Temp Protection" or "Device too hot" ?

You can't just say this - it's completely the wrong way of looking at it - it depends on a lot of factors, including the resistance of the coil, the coil material, the optimum heat flux of that coil, the type and properties of your tank etc.

You need to bone up on the basics of vaping, how to use TC (Temp Control), how TC actually works, the difference in using various metals for the coil and the coil resistance etc., how and why to lock the coil resistance in TC mode etc etc...

I tried looking for a book called "Boning up on the basics of vaping", no such luck. Unfortunately after dying in an accident, the portions of my brain that create new memories and allow access to them was damaged. Think "Memento". I would explain more but "you need to bone up on the basics of" your f*cking brain and why it would compel you to tell others what to do on an (optional)forum without even providing sources for the information you are then prescribing they know. The next time you ask someone a question, don't, because you should already know the answer.

Thanks to everyone else who answered, I think it was a combination of things; bad pack of coils, the high temp on those same coils, adjusting wattage, increasing airflow on the tank, all small things that added up. And the juice I was using at the time.

He *does* seem a little salty, doesn't he?

Oh well - his loss - I was going to offer to lend him my 'Boning up on the basics of vaping' book, but he will just have to get his own copy now...

What is, "1/4 lung full"?
Are you measuring your lung capacity?

This got me cracking up

Anyhoo, it may have already been said but try lowering your wattage down to about 20w first and then just nove up from there.
