Can you slip something thin under the battery door and push the battery down?

Purple efest by any chance? They are known to be just too long for stout.

Why? What do you expect might happen?
I personally just don't see anything good happening by using a powerful magnet against a battery. I don't know the exact effects it may/may not have but it can't be good. Battery 101, your not supposed to put batteries with coins, metal, keys, etc... So a powerful magnet should most definitely be a no no

You're not supposed to keep loose batteries with loose metal stuff because you can short the battery, causing no end of mayhem. I can't imagine using a strong magnet to extract a battery would do any harm to anything. Probably won't work, though.

I did try a couple of rare earth magnets but they weren't strong enough to extract the battery. The door is open, the battery is exposed, and it seems to have swollen. Not my mod, brought in to me at the shop. Guy who owned it tried to pry the battery (still holding a hefty charge) out with a sharp knife! Broke the tip off the knife and wedged that in there too. I've since carefully removed the knife tip.

I'll try the old freezer trick next.

If this was my mod I'd drill a hole into the battery, insert a screw and yank the battery outta there with a pair of pliers. Note the "If this was my mod...' portion of the post. It's not my mod, so feel free to ignore.

Um, this is a Lithium Ion 26650 that is still holding charge. Not a spent alkaline AA battery. I'll pass on the drilling, thanks.

Well well! The old stick-it-in-the-deep-freeze for a few hours trick worked. Had to tap the mod on an anvil to get the battery to slide out, but out it came.
The guy who got the battery stuck up in there told me the mod was mine if I could get the battery out. NICE!! New SS Vaporflask Stout, same chipset as the RX 200.
