Vaporshark has just released a baby version of the rDNA 40. Somehow they squeezed a full size 18650 in that body. Not user replaceable though. I may consider this one. Even though I really don't want a 40w device.

Vapor Shark DNA (40W Version)

When the original Vapor Shark DNA was released, it took the vape world by storm. Never before had an ultra compact device been packed with so much power and battery life, or so many revolutionary and groundbreaking features. Fast forward to 2015, and we are reprising our performance with the release of the new and redesigned Vapor Shark DNA 40. The first time you hold it in your hand, you'll be impressed all over again at how much power has been condensed into its classically elegant form. Don't allow the familiar aesthetics to confuse you; nearly every component of this DNA has been upgraded and modernized. Most notably, the DNA is now powered by the DNA 40 board from Evolv, providing you the opportunity to take advantage of the incredible temperature sensing and limiting feature when using nickel wire builds or our new TSC atomizers. In an exceptional design feat, the battery has been replaced with a full size 2500 mAh, 35 Amp, LG 18650 hard wired to the DNA 40 board. As if that wasn't enough, the Vapor Shark DNA has been outfitted with Zip high speed charging capability which reduces charging to a fraction of the time normally required. From the new tactile, rubberized finish to the self adjusting solid stainless steel 510 connection; the Vapor Shark DNA is a completely new device for a completely new era.

Yeah tons of new stuff already announced for 2015. Imagine what it will be like by mid-year.

This one appeals to me because of the quality of VS. My rDNA 30 is rock solid. That is why I have been trying to find a second one. Really didn't want a DNA 30 just for the simple fact it has such a small battery. But this one having an 2500mAh LG built in has probably sold me. I bought my girlfriend a DNA 30 for Christmas and she loves it. But she doesn't vape like me so the battery lasts her a while.

I'm sure it's very nice. Not in my price range though.

That looks nice, but I don't understand the concept of wiring in a user purchasable battery. I have 14 LG's, six are married pairs for my iPV3, but still, lol, I can get two pairs for slightly more than $25. Oh well. At least they offer a replacement service that isn't horribly expensive.

I tend to vape between 40-60 watts, but I'm growing more interested in these temperature controlled chips. I'm wondering if less wattage works out well when using temperature control. I'm gonna patiently wait for the china chips to proliferate the market, and then find out what is good, and what is affordable.

So I've been only hearing about this temperature control thing recently, and one thing I read is that it only works with coils made out of nickle. Is that true?

Looks like my dna30 and rdna30 are in need of a new brother! The lipo in my dna30 is about shot anyway (keep meaning to send it in, but never do). I held off on the rdna40, but not sure I will be able to on this. The hard wired battery is an annoyance, but the small size makes up for it.... and according to those measurements it'll fit 22mm tanks just right! I just bought a 50w device and I have yet to go over 36w, so I think I am good with 40. As for the temp control, doubt I'll use it, but it is something fun to play with I suppose.

Yup. I have zero interest in this feature myself.

I have the rDNA on its way and waiting for LittUp Customs to come out with the DNA40 NES mod. Getting ready for those nickel builds.
