Vapouron Islim TC 50 w not charging

Hi, I have a Vapouron spring pole Islim TC 50w that doesn't seem to charge. I've tried various chargers but nothing works. Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do to try and fix it please.

How long have you been using this mod? What do you mean by various chargers? Do you mean the part that plugs into the wall, or the cable, or both?

If you have tried with different chargers and cables, then it is very possible that the mod is simply worn out. The problem with using USB ports for charging is that they wear out and then the mod is worthless. If you know how to solder, you might be able to take the mod apart and replace the USB port, otherwise you should probably just get a new mod and charger. I highly recommend something that uses an 18650 battery, so that this doesn't happen again.

HTH!

I've tried both cables and chargers. I might try and replace the USB port. Can the batteries be replaced? I only just brought it (second hand from a car boot sale) and I was told it hasn't been charged for a very long time, I think maybe that was my first mistake.

Thanks for your reply by the way.

I don't know specifically if you can change the battery in that mod, but as a general rule, if you can get it out, you can probably change it. If it is the usb port, then the battery may be okay as is. I would disassemble and replace the port first, then before I put it all back together I would charge it and see if it will fully charge. If not, then I would worry about replacing the battery.

With the cost of all the parts, it may be cheaper to buy a new mod instead of trying to replace all the other bits. From a tinkerer's perspective though, I would rip it apart and see if I could fix it too. :D

I've ordered a new mod but I'm still gonna take this one apart, I feel I need to do it. Thanks for your help and sorry for the late reply, internet was down for a little while.

No worries about the reply time, glad to hear you ordered a new mod. What did you decide to go with?

Also, if the batteries self discharged below 2.5 volts from sitting around, the mod's charging board may not see a battery connected or it see's an unsafe battery and shuts down.

Oh, thanks for that. So do you think it's worth trying new batteries on it or maybe using an external charger?

Open it up and check the battery with a meter. If its below 2.5 volts it's below the safe discharge level and is trash. Sometimes they can be brought back if you have a charger that has that feature. Hopefully it's an 18650 soldered in and will be easy to change. Of course you still don't know if the mod it self is any good but it's fun to play around and see if you can get it working. Ideally having a battery sled handy so you can temporally solder it in to test the mod without soldering to a battery then finding out the mods trash.
Good luck with it.
