I was one of the lucky winners to receive one of these kits from Heaven Gifts in their recent contest here on the forum. This will be the first review I have ever done, so I'll do my best. Actually, I'm a little hesitant to even call it a review. I'll really just be sharing some of my thoughts on it. I won't be taking a key and trying to scratch the finish off or doing a burn test on the temperature control mode. Here's a link to the device on HeavenGifts.com, and I would like to thank @Heaven Gifts for the chance to try this device out.
Vaptio has built a sensor into the coil that determines the temperature rather than relying on using the resistance of the wire. I don't know the specifics so I won't try to explain how it works. I do know there is a connector built into the 510 pin that relays the information to the mod. The mod also includes Ni200, Ti, and SS TC modes, and VW as well.
As always, HeavenGifts had it shipped really quickly. It only took two or three days to get to me here in Arkansas. It came very securely wrapped up in plenty of bubble wrap. The packaging from the manufacturer was very nice and secure also.
I really like the overall design and colors of the device. The one I received is black with a metallic burgundy trim. Like I said, I won't be testing the durability of the finish, but it feels like it is powder coated maybe, so I expect it to hold up fairly well. The buttons have a dark silver finish. They feel pretty solid and provide nice feedback when pressing them. The screen is bright and clear, and it's a little larger than a lot of mods I've used.
So far I have only used the ATC (Accurate Temperature Control) coil. It is a .4 ohm kanthal coil with the built in temperature sensor. I have been using it at around 480 degrees F. With other TC devices, I have usually had to set them around 500-510 degrees to get a satisfying vapor production. The S150 produces a decent cloud even as low as 350 degrees (obviously nothing huge, but more than I would expect). For me though, the flavor really starts to come out around 430 degrees or higher. Around that temperature, the flavor seems to be pretty decent compared to other pre-made sub-ohm coils I've used.
There are a few issues I've noticed with the device and tank, but nothing really major. When scrolling through the watts or temperature, it scrolls a little slow for my taste. Not a huge deal because normally you wouldn't do a lot of adjusting anyway, but worth mentioning for some maybe. Also, the airflow is a little tighter than what I've gotten used to, but I've been using a Griffin and a Hatty RDA so I don't hold that against it, just worth mentioning. The drip tip has airflow on it, too, but it seems to kill the flavor so I don't use it. The tank is top-fill, however I've had some issues with it. The droppers I have just barely fit into the hole and when filling the juice doesn't flow into the tank. I am using max VG juice, so that could be the problem. I have just been filling from the bottom, but I will try a different ratio juice at some point. The mod seems to go to "sleep" or a power saver mode after about one minute. In order to vape on it then, you have to click the fire button to wake it up prior to taking a vape.
Overall, I think it is a pretty good mod. Most of the issues I mentioned could be fixed in a firmware update, if it is updateable. I don't know for sure if it is or not. The only real hardware issue I've found is the top-fill. I'd like to see a top that just screwed off and made filling a little easier, or at least a little larger hole with the current design. If anyone has any questions or something you'd like me to try, let me know. I'll update this thread as I continue using the device.
