I'm an RDA noob also and just picked up a Velocity also. My first build on it was this one below, 24g KA1 at 8 wraps. Comes out at .41 on my sig150w and hits like a dream around 60w give or take. I'm more into the flavor but it does chuck some wicked vapor. This RDA stuff is FUN. I've rewicked it since this photo with much less cotton and it hits even better. Just enough cotton to barely touch the juice well base.

Well I'm hoping to save money using an RDA and also get more flavor. With my current tanks I use I don't tend to get much flavor, but that could be due to the vendor and pg/vg ratio.

Also when I build my own coils how do I know what wattage to vape at?

Dude wattage will vary depending on the voltage you enjoy.
My Baal at 40w fires at 3,8volts.
Now my darkhorse needs more powa to hit 3.8+

So I can vape at any wattage unlike how most prebuilt atomizers have a wattage range?

Crank it up! Youll find if you're too high, it may not wick fast enough. I rarely go over 60 and the other 90 is "just because".

So anyone running the Tobecco Velocity clone? Also does anyone have any input on comparison between clone and authentic as far as performance?

I hear that the authentic and clone are very simliar although people say the authentic is worth the money.

Like many other clones, the Tobeco Velocity has more machine oil left in it. A good cleaning is mandatory.

A nice hot bath in water with some dish washing detergent. Even better, like I do, same kind of bath in a ultrasonic cleaner. After that, give it a good rinse. Dry, build, vape.

Just did some crazy ass low .12 build that loves running some low watts, been playing with it at 2.8 volts and not having an issue.

I really like .26 gauge, and i highly recommend the dual twisted build as where to start. It tastes great and chucks the cloud.

I'm about to build my first twisted parallel as well, supposed to enhance flavor even more.

Will I know when to drip more juice just from vaping it?

When you have had 3 or 4 good hoots, pull the cap off and see if the well is dry, or the wick is going dry.

So I was looking at the steam engine for coil wrapping and the length was not enough that they suggested whats up with that?

I figured it out but my question is how do you figure out how much wire to cut when your building a coil? Just guess on the length?

The first time: Go with too much, measure it. See how much is left over. Subtract that from the original length, and add an inch. After a while, just eyeball it. If in doubt use more.

I plan on going with a dual build .41 ohms 3mm 8 wraps, Would 10inches be too long?

Try it. Don't worry too much, I'm a cheap bastard, and wire is not THAT expensive. Even for me!

Just curious how strong are RDA posts that are press fitted into the RDA, Like could you break it off by wiggling it or would it need more pressure than that?

On the velocity you should be able to do what you have to do without worrying, other clones are a different story. When I started building I questioned how much wire to use also, so cut too much and measure, make your coil, cut the ends and subtract how much extra then you know how much to cut next time:)

Cause I've wiggled the negative post a bit just to check and make sure it's firmly in there, and me being a worrier I worry that doing this could make the post loose.

make sure your coils are the same wraps on both sides and the legs are roughly the same length, if all that is good it could be a loose screw, or different density of wicking. I would just clean it up and dry fire it. if there heating the same rate from inside out you have nothing to worry about

Anyone got any Idea how to fix the Velocity being so damn tight and hard to take off and put back on. I've had to replace the O rings already. I'm thinking of not even taking off the cap when I drip, Just drip straight through the opening. Also I've been getting Juice on the outside pof the RDA near the edges of it on my mod and Juice under neath the RDA. Is that normal. And Can over tightening the RDA screws cause problems with the coils?

I just drip through the chuff cap mostly since I hate having to line up the groove on the barrel to snug down on the deck.

Eta: also yes, this RDA does leak a little from the airflow holes of you over drip, solve this by dripping straight into the juice well down the center of the chuff. If your wicking is good it'll suck it all up plenty good.
