Warning: Full spoilers for Vikings: Season 3 follows...
While it may not have worked out all of its kinks, Vikings is most definitely a show that's improved season over season. So it should come as no surprise that Season 3 was its best run yet, offering up big battles, big twists, and even an earthly visit from Odin himself.
Seriously though, I really dug the Kevin Durand/Harbard arc (which took Siggy off the show, per actress Jessalyn Gilsig's request to leave). The whole tale certainly helped carry me through the first three or four episodes which mostly focused on Ragnar volunteering his skills to help Ecbert appoint Kwenthrith to the throne of Mercia. Not only was I surprised to be so interested in Ragnar-less things going on back in Kattegat but it was the show's first dabbling in quasi-supernatural stuff.
