Wanting a regulated

So, I've been vaping, solely, on my mech mod with a magma for almost a year. I feel it's time to get a regulated mod, again. I had an mvp v2 for a while, and liked the convenience. This time around, I'm looking for something that will fire lower, and has a little more power. I don't need 100W, or anything like that. 50W would be just fine for me. I've been looking at three and was wondering if anybody has used all three and has any suggestions. I've been looking at the following:

Evic VT - don't need the temp control right now, but might be nice to have down the road. 60 W seems like it would be plenty for me. Just the basic one - not looking at a tank that I need to buy heads for. This would mean that I would have to buy a tank.

Kanger Subox Mini - 50W and it comes with a subtank mini. I can rebuild it and wouldn't need to buy another tank straight away. The battery door problem concerns me, though.

Cool Fire IV - 40 W and built in battery.I like the idea of not having to carry around batteries with me all the time. I would need to buy a tank with this one.

I realize that this is the mod forum, but if anybody has any suggestions for a tank as well, I would be glad to hear them.

Trying to keep it under $100 for the mod and tank.

Thanks

hey, you should check out the joyteck ego one xl its an amazing little mod with tank included and best of all it can sub ohm to 0.5. i have the xl the battery is 2200 and last me 2 days with heavy use and with all my friends taking hits too. there are a ton of reviews on the net for it check it out i promise you wont be disappointed. they even make it were they sell rebuild-able coils for it incase you miss rebuilding or you can just buy the 5 pack 0.5ohm coils :)

Edit- i forgot to add, the air draw on the thing is amazing!

the sub box mini would be a good choice. check out the ipv mini 2 as well. pretty small and goes to 70w. there is so many choices for regulated mods under $100 its crazy.

Thank you! I will look into the mini 2 as well. Really hoping to keep the total cost, mod and tank, under $100. Seems I may have more options. Looks like it might be longer than I thought before I order anything. More research, here I come.

Subox is one stop shop and you probably have batteries for it already. I have one, it's nice and small, works well, scratches if you're not careful. I have the evic vt as well, again no complaints, it's certainly versatile and works well so far. I'd say either one suits the needs you mentioned, but what about size? I'd recommend the evic over the kanger mainly based on the versatility but it's a good 1/3 bigger than the kanger battery. The subox is light in the pocket, the evic carries a bit more weight with all that battery capacity.

I think the EVIC VT is a good buy w/o the tank. In the future should you want to use the temp limiting capabilities, you are set.

The IPV4 offers temp limiting plus all the power you will need and it's dual 18650. They are swappable unlike the VT which has a LiPO pack in it.

Either choice is good. My philosophy is to err on the the side of a bit more power then needed in case you want it in the future. Must be why I owned a blown '68 Charger when I was younger. God I miss that car.:(

Thanks all. Really leaning toward the VT. Looked at the IPV4 but 'tis out of my price range if I want to stay under $100 for the mod and tank. BUt, down the road, who knows. Maybe I will be able to afford something like the SX Mini M Class, but not right now. I do see that Sigelei is coming out with the 75 watt with TC, but may wanna wait on that one for a bit. Trying to decide - evic VT with the tank(not too big on pre-built coil heads) or a different tank that I can throw a nickel build on when I'm ready t venture into temp control.

Oh, and, a '68 Charger? Nice!! Couldn't pay me to drive one of the new ones, but that one would be fun.

With the EVIC VT, you can buy the full kit with tank and get the CLR heads which are rebuild-able, with Kanthal, Nickel, or Titanium. Your preference.

That charger was scary fast. The current models can't hold a candle to a bored out 440 with a supercharger. Mine was dyno'd at 857 HP. Back then, who the hell cared about miles per gallon? It ate tires like Rosanne Barr at an all you can eat rib joint.

First VW?
Pffft... Subox. Hands down.

Tiny, bulletproof, solid board, and arguably, one of the best tanks money can buy. WITH an RBA deck!

I would not recommend the VT. NOT a beginner's device.
I'd say stay away from temp control entirely til' you master... wattage control and the .5 (sub-ohm) atties.

Sorry I should have been more specific in the beginning. Not my first regulated, nor my first venture into rebuilding. Been building my own coils for about a year and a half. Just decided to go with a mech mod for a while. I don't own, or buy, devices very often, so, it's usually a LONG time between purchases. I keep what I need just to keep from smoking. In this situation, I'm getting sick of using a mech mod and balancing batteries which is why I'm leaning toward the VT - built in battery. I will keep the mech around for when I'm sitting on my butt at home and just staring at the tube, but I want something different.

The CLR heads kind of worry me. I suffer from fat-finger syndrome, and something that tiny - not sure I could do anything with it. The subtank intrigues me, but, again, the build area is tiny. Not sure how to approach the rebuildable sub tank area. Most of the build decks look so small!

Scu' me, I musta' misunderstood your experience. The eVic is a monster mod for lung hitters. I think it'll jump start your car too. :)
I posted this earlier in the eVic thread.

No worries. If it's that strong, good. I have a tendency to leave my lights on after driving in the rain and it has rained more than anything else in KC for the last month.

I just read that post. Still think for the money, the VT may be for me. I will just venture, slowly, into the TC world. But, it will still fire kanthal builds, so I'm good there. If I wasn't somewhat limited by my budget, I might look at the ipv4, but, since I want a tank as well, that limits my options.

Got my wife the subox kit and it's great for the money. I thought it would feel cheap, but it's metal and feels solid. The battery door on hers is perfect and the magnet grabs a hold of it well. She also uses a subtonic nano on it and it's a killer stealthy mod.

Thanks for the input all. Think I'm gonna go with the VT. Now to figure out the tank, but that's a different forum. Thanks again, everybody!

I have a ipv mini 2 and an istick 50w, I use the istick 50w way more than i do my mechs or my ipv mini 2. Battery last for days, can fire down to .2ohms and has locking adjustment
