M. Night Shyamalan's Wayward Pines has been renewed for a second season, FOX announced today. This comes almost five months after the season 1 finale aired in July, an unusually long time for FOX.
Ten new episodes of the psychological thriller will air in summer 2016. The show left the story open-ended enough to warrant a second season, which will pick up "when a new arrival in Wayward Pines finds himself in the middle of a serious rebellion, as the residents battle over how to preserve the endangered human race."
Based on the bestselling books by Blake Crouch, Wayward Pines follows a Secret Service agent, played by Matt Dillon, in search of of his two missing cohorts. He finds himself in Wayward Pines, a spooky little town with a lot of mystery.
