Hello everyone, I haven't posted in quite a long time, I had some serious mental health issues so was away for a few years, but these are now being treated and I am back to building, making juice, and the collection.
This is what I have accumulated over the years mod wise- 52 regulated and mechanical mods, always looking for the next thing to make my vaping experience better, Evolv boards, Escribe etc.
Then about a month and a half ago I was told of a clearance sale on the Council of Vapor Kindred V2 mech mod, authentic for just £4.99 new.
I didn't need another mech, but for the price I couldn't pass on the offer.
And I am very surprised- it has became my favourite mod.
It is made from copper but finished in stainless steel, so is very conductive but with the sturdiness of SS, has silver plated copper contacts and fire button, a lovely magnetic fire switch that I have never had not work, a standard 510 connection that is also silver plated copper which I prefer over hybrid style mechs, a reverse style locking ring, and it all around just works.
I have paired it with a VLS Vector RDA that I had in SS to match, and had some 22G Kanthal laying around that I was never going to use, so have made a 5 Wrap 2MM ID coil that comes in around 0.25 Ohms.
The thing I love is that the mech just works, and works well. I have been using it daily for around about 6 weeks now, and the other day did some cleaning with brasso on the copper threads and contacts to remove anything preventing the best contact, and it is working like the day I got it.
So, I have payed out thousands of pounds on mods, both regulated and mechanical, and it turns out a mod that cost me less than a fiver paired with an RDA I had spare has become my favourite.
I am still using my other mods such as the DNA200's with RTA's for TC with SS316L, but I like the fact the Kindred V2 just works, there is no board to fail on it or electronics, and I am really enjoying the flavour from the simple build I am using.
I liked it so much I got another in full copper so I had the collection of them both.
So for the price of a cup of coffee I have probably got my all time favourite mech, that wasn't a clone from China, and also cost far less than even a clone would.
I am blown away.
