The question we have before us is whether or not to regulate the use of vaping devices in public places, just as we regulate smoking,” said Haas-Davidson. “Right now, the devices are not illegal, but there are very likely unknown secondhand side effects from what enters the air. This is a question of public health and safety

You don't make fucking laws that change the way people act over what if's and maybes.
If it's unknown then do a study and make it become known.
This is not fucking rocket science - 5150

By the definition provided by the city attorney, “vaping” is a slang term for the use of a vaporizer device to smoke a liquid substance.

WRONG

Looks and odors can be deceiving. Because the aerosol liquid is colorless and odorless, you don’t necessarily know what the person sitting next to you in the coffee shop patio is smoking.

How The Fuck Can The Odor Be Deceiving If It's Odorless?
You Can't Have It Both Ways.

The particles released into the air by these electronic devices are smaller than 1,000 nanometers or about equal to that released into the air by cigarette smoke or diesel engine smoke.

A Fart or a Burp, even human breath most likely have the same size or equal to that released into the air by cigarette smoke or diesel engine smoke.
What does the fucking SIZE have to do with anything?
That doesn't make it smoke or diesel engine
exhaust
But while we are on the topic why isn't the ban of the diesel engine being discussed at this meeting?
Sounds as if it's the same or worse for you than cigarette smoke by their account.

A Yale University study of one upscale Connecticut high school found that one in five of its student body of 3,847 who used e-cigarettes had used them for cannabis and byproducts like hash oil.

I do not believe that one in five students have vaped drugs with an ecig in a state where that particular drug is illegal.

I doubt that one in five cannabis using adults in Colorado, a state where it is LEGAL have vaped it.

What did the Yale study poll the schools five stoners ONLY???

“If I’m hearing this correctly, there are three stages of enforcement, depending upon place and age, and our ordinances don’t cover these devices,” said Councilwoman Fred Miklin. “Developing an ordinance would at least provide a clear transaction path for our police department to deal with this.”

And here we see why the propaganda and scaremongering is being unleashed.
In a state where smoking both substances is legal.
Cops are either too lazy or too stupid to tell which of the two is coming out of a vaporizer.

This seems like another case of a group of people who have never stepped foot in a vape shop or even bothered to speak to an actual vaper about the subject they know so little about making laws on that subject - 5150

Any law towards vaping and cannabis. Is never truly a safety concern. It is government and F.D.A "Why are we not making money off this too,tax them or extort them with fines" concern. They can place some mill or factory 2 blocks from Main Street spewing out toxins and raising cancer rates through the roof all over the United States and nobody ever says a word. The anti-vaping laws and movement is Big tobacco driven and the cannabis ones are Big Pharmacy supported. Two sources of revenue the United States thrives on "Medicine and Sickness". This all comes to the simple fact that "Going green and being healthier" is against the law.
