Hey guys,

I've been chasing down another El Diablo Hellboy V2 RDA after recently purchasing a SS one which I love. I got it for at a local B&M for $60AUD and have been looking around and can't seem to find them for under $100AUD. I've been looking at clones and they're only $14 - $15USD a piece. Here's the RDA I've been looking at: http://www.3fvape.com/rebuildable-a...izer-black-stainless-steel-24mm-diameter.html

Are clones safe to use?

For those of you who have bought clones, what are your thoughts and experiences when using them?

Cheers.

Most clones I've purchased have been pretty much 1:1, almost seems like they were built in the same facility and the contractor may have just fucked the designer and made a bunch on the side. Oh well, send your jobs to china you probably deserve to get hosed...

I have a hunch that shits gonna change with the new "elect" administration.

I have this exact clone actually!! I got mine through eBay, or amazon? Cost me about £14... works beautifully, only concern was that when first opened I was excited to see "under the hood" of the rda and managed to pull the driptip off in a bad way, it broke.
Fortunately however it does come with a second, smaller piece that I took alot more care with ;) it was my choice over halloween. Great for clouds, can leak but all in all for the price, pretty good! :)

Sounds like it may be worth picking up then! I've emailed my local B&M to see if they can order me in another authentic, but if they can't I'll probably just pick up the clone.

Darn, they can't order me one in due to an MOQ issue? What ever that is. Looks like I'll have to go with the clone. :(

I always buy clones as well as authentics to compare them...lately the differences are far and few between for 1:1 clones....They are great for low income vapers or the vaper who is curious but doesnt want to dump a ton of cash to try something they may not like....

If you like the clone then chances are you will love the authentic and I would suggest buying the authentic to support the manufacturer afterwards.

Some clones are authentics or "Pirated Editions". The designers didnt pay for due to issues or "the product wasnt to their secs" and the designer didnt want to pay the manufacturer. Hence the release of the "Clones before the Authentics"..*cough* Stingray Tubes and Goon LP *Cough*....but you didnt hear that from me..

I love the RDA but there's no way I'm paying $100AUD for an authentic when I already got an authentic for $60AUD. I'm just going to pick up the clone now and spend the $78 I'll save on a goon when they come back in stock.

Against cloning people........ cheap mods not so much of an issue.

Imo... the person that can afford to pay the 300% to 1000% premium for an authentic device isn't going to buy a clone anyway... most clone buyers don't have the extra cash..

Clones are fine. Prime example: the Russian 91% is a kayfun lite clone. But the Russian is AMAZING.

Many clone products are actually made by the same factory without the approval of the product company. That's why we always see >90% or even 100% similarity between some clones and the genuine products.

Clones are hit and miss, you always need to closing inspect a clone before using one.

As for the Hellboy V2 Clone from 3FVape I actually got a couple from them. They're not bad but they certainly are not a 1:1 Clone and of mediocre quality. Example is the plastic drip tip as soon as it gets warm it'll just fall off if you even tilt the RDA.

Mod's, I've got the Abaddon Clone, not a bad Mod but again not as good as the Authentic.

As for other Clones from 3FVape, I've gotten the VCP Mod Clone, the Kayfun V5, the 24mm X1 and VGod Trick Tank Pro Clones from them and compared them to my Authentic's. Close, damn close but still minor things like machining quality and materials that aren't as good as the Authentics.

Anyway like I said, hit and miss with Clones but specifically the Hellboy, not even close to same quality.

Yep, you nailed it. For high end stuff I like to get a clone to get the general idea before dishing out for the authentic. Recent examples are the Mose RDA and Kayfun V5. Really liked them both and got the Authentic's.

What I've also noticed is generally Clones of Chinese authentics are pretty damn close to being as good as the authentic. Clones though for like Pinoy gear, not so much to even being pieces of shit.

My opinion on clones... if I was a mod maker I would care more. I do think we as a country need to do what we can to protect our manufacturers.... that said some have a limited budget for vape gadgets...

When I got into vaping I had no idea there was a such thing as clones....... I knew the Ego battery I was using wasn't cuting it as the mod for a Kayfun 3.1. So I bought a mech mod. I found a mod I liked a Brass Origin mech that took 18350 18500 and 18650 batts. See I wanted to run 18500 plus a kick. I bought everything up to that point except for some wire from FT and FB and FC..... it was during the mech serve I found that other forum....and heard about clones... I did my research.. the authentic version of my mod was $189 I paid $13......... besides MOST of the clones I liked... I couldn't find as authentic.......still can't or refuse to pay that much.....
I have no problem buying a clone if that's what I can afford... I try to buy the BEST gear I can.... it just not always the most expensive. That means a clone here and there......so be it..

I have an authentic kayfun and a clone...... mounted and filled.. I can't tell them apart.

I won't spend more than I need too to be politically correct. Thats my opinion on clones.
