In light of some recent comments regarding what online reviewers tell us what we should want in a product, I'm curious to see what the masses are really clamoring for.

What do YOU want in YOUR vaping gear?

This is a multiple answer poll...please select every answer that applies to you.

I REALLY want an American-designed (preferably made) mechanical, preferably a hybrid top and copper negative contact. I want it to be $50, and I want a 2yr warranty against manufacturing defects. I want it to make me bacon in the morning and listen to my girl's feelings while I watch TV.

That's what I REALLY want, but I could do without the last two, if necessary.

If most of the VU users answered this poll, I think this honestly, would represent the BULK of the vaping community.

Hell! The last two ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT! I could forgo all the rest as long as the device worked. However, I like the way you think!;)

I want my vaping gear refined. Every device I have bought has at least one flaw that keeps it from being great.
They are usually simple fixes that any vaper would have pointed out during design.

This industry seems to throw a ton of shit at the wall hoping to have a hit and get that big payoff.
New products constatantly introduced, and usually nothing being changed but power output, or resistance level.
Testing and user feedback doesn’t play any part in the development cycle.

I had my first vape based on reviews online because I can't just grab one here nearby. I neither do have friends who use vapes as well, so it was a challenge to me to grab my first ever purchase. So what I did is I simply read some reviews online and compare it with the number of good comments people gave on a product, and when everything got so well, I see to it that it's guaranteed with a warranty. Everything seems cool and had mine from http://egarsvape.ca/en/ . So far, I haven't seen or detected any signs of bad qualities or any bad review. Though the taste is really good and I really love it. So again, reviews and warranties works for me best and I ain't spending too much on vapes, so basically, I'm not open on getting some really expensive ones. At least not at the moment.

I read another thread discussing box mods and how you could get them for about 55 - 80 dollars
on ebay. Does this guy live in his mom and dads basement?
I build box mods for my own use (and a couple of friends) so I know what goes in to a
quality build.

So I'm offering a project to anybody interested.
I need you to build:
Dual 26650 Mech boxs
1590B box, must be square not just "kinda" or "close".
Nice finish on box.
3D printed battery sleds (black)
22mm FDV 510 connector.
Mosfet protected (3034)
Prefer 19mm (but 16mm will do) stainless steel fire button.
all on 14 gauge copper wire.
I need these in 3 - 5 days.
I'll pay $60.00 each, ok $65.00 with free shipping.

Any takers... Bueller...Bueller...

I get this kind of request alot.
Forget getting rich. how much would you have to charge each, and build how many per week
just to pay your bills? (or the setup cost of mass production)

Right now it looks like only BIG Tobacco or slave labor have the resources to meet our wants.

Perhaps you were referring to me. No, I do NOT live in my parents basement, I live in my own house that I pay for. Matter of fact, life keeps me pretty busy. If you think the boxes I bought are shit quality for under 70 bucks, think again. They actually work great, and are built with the SAME parts, most everyone puts in a Hammond box.

So YOU charge more for a box. IDGAF. Your product, your price. I won't pay 100 bucks for less than 30 dollars of parts assembled in a box. YOU are certainly welcome to charge whatever you want, and I am certainly free to NOT buy your stuff, as well as free to tell you I think your price exceeds my perceived value of your product. See how that works? Instead of worrying about me and the FACT others are producing boxes for LESS than you, you should concentrate on YOUR target audience. I ain't it.

Wow, you missed the whole point...
The guy selling boxes that cheap is living in his moms basement (not paying bills at that price)
I don't build and sell boxes to the public because there is no money in it. (I have bills) I build my own.
If I was worried about you, I would have named you.
The point of the post is we can't have it all. Those under $70 box builders aren't paying bills on that.

You would have to flood the market to break even on mass production at that price point and start up costs just eaten to compete with china.

Well, I kinda agree with you. Forgive me for getting crass about your comment, I thought it was directed at me. Again, I apologize.

However, both these mods I bought, I talked with the builders. Both are employed full time. One is a more experienced and better builder, but both were built just fine. It isn't safe to assume all low priced builders are living in mom's basement. Some do it for a hobby, and certainly don't either value their time OR have no clue what it takes to run a successful business. They do however, know what it takes to build a quality product.

Maybe their business model is just much different than yours.

It's cool, no harm I knew you misunderstood me.
I as well am employed full time and time is money, hell I won't start my car for less than $20.00 an hour and on the weekends that just
about doubles. I would love to build my own Mech tube mod, but with my limited work shop it's still cheaper to buy authentics.
Labor will always be the killer unless it's a hobby.
The money is in consumables not hardware, you only need one mod but you have to keep filling it. (yea I make my own liquid too)

Increased level of durability. How many mod/atty combos can be dropped onto concrete from face level and still work? These devices keep me from smoking and if I'm out and about and something happens to the fragile little things..... My glass and plastic iphone wrapped in an otterbox can and has easily survived being dropped. I have to treat my vape like a glass egg.

Exactly... I work outside 10 -12 hours a day. All of my home built boxes are mech and painted with truck bed liner, they
can take a beating.

Does peilican make smaller boxes in the project box range?

I have seen mods built from Milwakee drill bit/bit boxes. The look tough, but IMO, too big to fit a pocket. Be nice is someone like Pelican made a special box for vapers.

I have several pelican cases. Awesome product. They are the case of choice for the USMC. We take them on deployment and beat the shit out of them. They get scratched up, but that's it.

Shit son for the last 20 years they have been Marine proof. (not much actually is Marine proof)
I can work with plastics much easier than metals due to lack of work shop and no tools for metal working... I might find the local place that sells em and see if I can get some hands on with them.

I want good customer service. When I buy a mod or topper, I read posts to find out how good the customer service has been for people. Bad customer service, I don't buy. Probably one of the reason I don't buy a lot of Chinese products, some not many.

I threw my vote in. In addition however, I'd like e-juice companies to publicly list the ingredients in their juices. I know, I know, secret recipes and all that, but I want to know what I'm vaping. I'd like to be able to do the research myself to know if what I'm inhaling is safe. All studies are biased so why not let me join in on it? If your juice is safe you don't have to worry about loosing my business.

Additionally, I'd like to see authentic prices drop a bit. Almost all of the attys and mods that have popular clones (Tobhs, Plume Veils, Stingrays, Nemys, et. al.) are over $80 a piece while their clones hover between $15 and $40. Somehow the Manhattan mod is nearly $200 despite the hit its reputation has taken and the ubiquity of the FUhattan. There's no reason for those prices. All it is is exclusivity. Those prices are for status symbols. Until those prices lower (and in the case of the Manhattan, they justify having a higher price than the clones with better safty and quality) I'll keep buying clones because I just can't afford to spend $80-$200 when I can get nearly the same product for a fifth of the price.

I'd like to see vtc5's readily available and affordable.
I'd like to see an rda so perfect, that I don't want to buy a different one for at least 30 days ;)
I'd like to be able to get lightning and thunder out of my clouds.

I sense a clone uprising. I like it.
I think for the most part the reason why a lot of authentic products are high is they try to make their money before the clones hit them but I'm sure some of them are just high because of being greedy and That's when the clones step in... No mach mod should be as high as some of them are...all it is at the end of the day is a metal tube..so if they made it cheaper right off the bat there would be no reason they would make a clone

likely hood of all that is pretty slim.
