Hello everyone of VU,

I am looking to spend about $100 - $200 on a good DNA 40 Box Mod

I am new to vaping (RDA wise) and I was wondering if a DNA 40 would be an appropriate mod to start with?

I was wondering what the best DNA 40 Box mod is in that price range preferably 2x 18650 batteries.

Also I am convinced that the DNA 40 is the best chip on the market right now from what I have seen. Could anyone make me think otherwise?

Thank you everyone for your time.

P.S. What do you think a good RDA for the mod would be?

The iStick 50w would get you through.... it doesn't have temp control though and once it's battery dies... you thow it out.

Your impatience doesn't change what I'd recommend currently on what is available right now... the chinese TC mod's have barely been out for very long... if you don't mind gambling pick one of those that has already been reported around but consider those reports just as first looks and know they don't have any time tested devices yet.

You throw the istick out once the battery dies? What the hell?
Edit: Oh do you mean once the cells in the battery die its no good?

What do you think a better option would be?
Kangxin DNA40 Vaporflask Clone with USB charging. I've got one, they are spot on accurate and the temp control works really well.

the isticks are good, it just depends what you are looking for. you can spend $200 and get something thatll last a long time or $30-50 on an istick that wont last as long. if you are going for the higher end i say an rdna40 or an sx mini, both have warranties

Sorry... should have been clearer... All of the iSticks have built in non-removable batteries. They ( all versions of the iSticks ) have been shown to be inexpensive mods and people just love them for it... but they are what they are. Also the 4400mah battery is nothign to sneeze at and will last for along time before needing recharged.

Personally, I just carry an extra 2500mah battery for my iPV Mini v2... giving me 5000mah between the two batteries, so I'm not that impressed by the capacity the iStick 50w has... but its still a good amount of battery charge

Is the IPV Mini v2 anything to get excited about?

Do any of you know much about the jellyfish by lotus?
No but the irremovable battery is a turn off. However it looks decent from what I have briefly seen.

I've been vaping with it for about a week now and it's kick ass. I have 2 complaints .
1. Is that I can't find a micro USB charger that charges it up besides the oem one.
I always like to have 1 at the house and 1 in my car "just in case" the battery life is kick ass. I would go threw 4 batteries a day with my vanilla mod. And a single charge will last me about 14 hrs. I am away from home 17 on some days. Hence why I need a secondary charger.
2. I let a dude I go to school with put his atomizer on the other day so he could get a feel for it and his coil was touching his post and shorted my shit out and from what I've found out you need to hook it up to a charger to physically reset the device. That was pretty beat cause u went without it for the rest of the night.
So in short the thing hits like a champ and besides those two flaws I would recommend plus a year warranty isn't too shabby either. Sorry for holding you guys hostage

The wife and I both have rdna 40 vapor sharks. Hers is the first run (older model) because she can't wait. I heard all the nightmare stories after we had already ordered it. Long story short never had a single issue with it so I went ahead and ordered mine new run big screen. I'm really impressed with the fit finish and function. The temp. control is very cool works as advertised. I'll buy from them again when it's time to do something new.

.

It isn't TC.... but it's a solid mod but nothing fancy looking and I really like how it feels in my hand... not too large like a dual battery mod would be. That being said... as a single battery device... I wouldn't go much beyond 50w max even though the mod is rated up to 70w... it'd eat through batteries like nobodies business at higher wattage settings. I like getting a mod that is rated well over what I'd vape it at so I don't stress the electronics trying to run them at max output.

The way I look at mods... is based on how they fit my hand. I can carry extra batteries if needed and not have a huge uncomfortable mod. Also, I don't like having to "marry" a set of batteries together. Others... like the dual batteries units because then they don't need to change out or charge batteries as quickly.. So which fits your needs will depend on your own preferences.

Yeah when vaping at those high wattages don't you have to worry more about your batteri(es) venting?

You shouldn't as long as you get the proper batteries to begin with... in fact that applies to the 30w devices as well.

Typical causes of a battery venting are from physical abuse and over taxing them... ie pulling more amps than they were designed to supply. That doesn't mean you can ignore common battery safety practices... but that applies to ANY rechargeable battery including the standard AA and other sizes.

its not about wattage its about your amps like rdsok just said. at 0.3 ohms at 30 watts thats 10 amps, so you need a 10 amp continuous battery to power that load. i would even use a 20 amp continuous battery even if i dont need the extra 10 so im not stressing the battery. you can vent a battery using 5 amps if its only a 2 amp battery (idk if they even make 2 amp batteries but you get the point lol)

I don't have one yet (recently ordered a V3 pack style with "slight cosmetic imperfections" for $150 + 10 shipping = $160) but I would suggest the Hana Modz, especially since the prices just dropped about $50. The Hana Modz is made in USA, and seems to have plenty of good reviews. For yourself, since you prefer dual 18650s, you can choose a V4 with "slight cosmetic imperfections" for $180 + $10 = $190, or you can pay an extra $30 and have more color choices minus the "slight cosmetic imperfections". Even if you don't use temperature control, better to have it. As for a tank, I am waiting for my SMOK Gimlet Cloud Tank ($30 at MadVapes) which will work with a temp control mod. I decided on the Gimlet instead of buying Vaporshark coils for my Kanger Aerotank or my Nautilus. The SMOK Gimlet coil is larger/wider, which I like. So...visit the home page of Hana Modz, choose V4 Dual or "Specials" if you want to save $30 on the V4 Dual. A wise first investment will save you some regret (I have a few regrets but hey, it's only money I would have spent on cigarettes...).

Noticed you wanted suggestions for an RDA, not a tank (clearomizer/glassomizer). I have an Atty clone that I haven't built yet. Paid $10 for it. The USA version cost about $80. All I can suggest is to watch youtube reviews until you find one you like. There sure are a lot of styles to choose from!

I have my eyes on the Plume Veil, I haven't heard anything besides great stuff about that atty.

The best one is not in 100-200 dollar range. Vicious ant phenom evolution is ok but it is 470 dollars. If you ask about the performance they are all the same. On regulated devices conductivity of the mod does not matter it will still push the watts you set.
