Hey all, I am in the market for a new mod. I currently have my original Innokin Cool Fire 4 and an eLeaf ipower 80w TC. I am looking to get a 150-200 W, dual 18650, regulated device. I want a device that takes removable batteries, as my internal battery mods lifespan is starting to dwindle, and i am noticing they do not hold a charge like they ued to ; ( My budget is under $75. My absolute REQUIREMENTS are: handles 24mm atomizers with NO overhang (25 mm a bonus plus, but not required), a clicky (not mushy or squishy) fire button, no battery or button rattle, a nice comfy feel in the hand ( I have rather large hands), a clear bright display, instant or close to fire response time. There are other minute things I WOULD like, but are not deal breakers (preheat function, bypass mode, TCR , custom power curve, custom logo, separate mode button....these are all basically just added pluses, none are required )

I have really been honing in on a sigelei fuchai 213 plus.. I found a site that sells the mod, 2x 18650 LG HG2, and a sigelei sub ohm tank for 59.99, which I thought was a SCREAMIN DEAL! I can also get the mod on various ebay auctions, New, for around 50.00. I also have been liking the wismec Reulaeux 2/3, as it looks versatile and comfy to hold. Others that have caught my eye are various SMOK products, and the vaporesso Tarot.

Now, I would love to know the following:
1. Does the Fuchai 213 plus handle 25 mm atomizers without any overhang ?
2. Is there a better option for me besides the Fuchai 213 plus for under $75?
3. I hear Samsung 25r 25000mAh 20A & LG HG2 18650s are the best 2 choices for dual 18650 regulated devices. Is this true?
4. To those who have the Fuchai 213 plus, have you had any issues? If so, please describe.

Thank you all very much in advance . Any and all input is much appreciated . The more feedback and details I get, the better, so don't be shy....xD

The 213 plus is great, as long as you don't want it to actually put out the wattage they claim. It kind of, but not really, does temp control. The screen is cool though. That's why I bought one.
I personally use my battlestar more than the 213. I find it does tc rather well. The alien I've heard mixed reviews on.
If size isn't a issue, look into the hohm wrecker g2. It's boxy but it will tc anything.
Asmodus also makes some damn good mods, it's on my list to get.

I chose the SMOK alien first, but changed my mind to the RX 2/3 on the vote, although either of these I find are great mods.

You mention having large hands, I am the opposite but find both the alien, and RX 2/3 to be very comfortable to hold.

I wouldn't actually go for the Sigelei 213 myself, as I really do think Sigelei have gone downhill since they switched to their own boards (Other people still rate them highly though, so it is just my opinion, although others do share it too).

I think for under $75 there are better choices than the Sigelei 213 most definitely. The Alien or RX 2/3 would keep you happy, I feel the Alien is a higher quality device than the RX 2/3, but the RX is not bad at all.

The 25R is a fantastic battery, although for a 20A, 3000MAH battery I would choose Samsung 30Q's over HG2's due to Mooch's tests, the 30Q is rated at 20A while the HG2 is at 18A from his tests. The sony VTC5A offers the same capacity of a 25R, but with a higher amp rating of 25A.
Depending how high you want to run the device wattage wise would make me choose between the 30Q and the VTC5A.

I don't have the Fuchai 213 myself, although have experience with friends and various other sources, but do own many other mods, if there are any other choices that I do own I will let you know what I think of each mod, and I hope you can soon find a nice new mod for your needs.

I recently purchased a Smok Alien and I absolutely love it (with the Cloud Beast on top, it's unbeatable). I have an RX2/3 and although I like it I find the Alien to be a better mod. So I voted for the Alien.

If your looking at the rx2/3 get the battlestar. Same form factor, but I find the overall build quality much better, and to me the chip performs better than the rx.

1) i can check but honestly I don't recommend it. I'm pretty sure it does but it's poor performance makes me never recommend it to people.
2) I voted alien but other great choices are the G-priv and battlestar.
3) great batteries for sure. No reason to change but if you buy more get the 30Q it'll give you more run time
4) here is my review and breakdown

as far as other questions. Not a fan of the wismec RX series. thin internal wiring heats it up, really bad 510 pin espcially when using tanks with longer 510's like smok tanks. Don't really know much on the taro except it's thin. won't handle a 24mm tank without overhang. it's 23mm wide IIRC. one reason I didn't get one but other then that only complaint i heard is it hits kinda weak. the por version apparently hits nice but still 23mm wide

Don't bother with ebay. much better options. Ecig.com sells the fuchai 213 plus for 40 bucks (38 with coupon code)
use vapecrawler.com to price check items and find the best sites selling it cheap

I actually changed my choice to the Alien for a few reasons.

I was basing my vote off of my own situation, which I should not of really done. I have over 40 mods, so it is quite easy for me to overlook certain things as I can just use another mod if there is issues.

I DO like the RX 2/3, and all of my Joyetech/Wismec devices, but if I was starting to build a collection the alien is actually a much better choice. It has a much better 510 connection, that is definitely spring loaded and returns to its normal height upon removing a tank, while the RX needs shims for tanks with longer threading, or you may damage it.

There is an issue with the fire button too that a lot of people have had themselves, I haven't but this is another reason not to choose the RX.

I was also leaning towards the RX due to SMOKS past offerings not being the best for TC, but this has long passed now, and they work really well at TC.

Also the alien is tiny for a dual 18650 mod! It would fit in a jacket pocket comfortably, even some jeans if you wear them on the looser side.

Sigelei has gone to shit. That being said, I have a Fuchai 213(not the plus) and I've had no problem with it aside from not getting close to 213 watts and not doing temp control at all. I was slightly interested in the Plus until I found out that it's basically no different. It supposedly does something resembling TC, but still doesn't come closeto the claimed wattage.

You can't go wrong with any of the mods Smok has released in the last year. The Alien, H-Priv, G-Priv, X Cube Ultra, all good performers.

To repeat what has been said a hundred times in a hundred threads, the G2 is an ugly ass workhorse. Top notch performance and very reliable. Fits 24mm atties.

I wouldn't recommend a Wismec mod to anyone.

Asmodus makes great stuff. If I were to go with anything on your list it'd probably be the Minikin 2.

I voted Other, to recommend an Hohm Slice..Not sure if tc is your thing but it does something no other mod at any price can do..TC with Kanthal wire and it works wonderfully...Buy it for 29.99 and buy another mod to go with it for your collection..That should cover your $75.00..Only thing is youll need a 26650 battery for it with more mah than any 18650..I know I know..that sucks.

I didn't vote for I rarely use regulated Mod's anymore, but I do have to chime in with this. The Hohmwrecker G2 I had a for a while and it may be ugly as sin but it's the only regulated Mod I've used that seriously hit's almost as good as a Mech. That and my "upgraded" DNA Reuleaux 200 hits well also, but the 510 pin, insulators and wiring I have replaced. The stock sucks ass.

My votes --
  • Alien MOD
  • Battlestar MOD
  • Hohm Wrecker G2 (on sale via coupon code --- vaporcube)
  • Samsung 30Q Batteries --- 20A & 3000mAh (love these batteries)
  • LG HG2 are "ok" but not 20A, they are only true 18A batteries.
I have an RX200S, and I have constant issues with the 510pin and certain tanks, so I can't recommend any of these MODs. Yes, they are extremely hyped up IMO.

Actually, you can use 18650 batteries, with a 26650 / 18650 sleeve.

Actually there's issues with all of Joytech's 510 pins, they're shit. So any company that is under Joytech like Wismec have issues, shame actually. All they would have to do is use decent wiring and 510 pin's that "maybe" would add an extra dollar to the cost they choose to be cheap bastards.

Mooch ranted and raved about them so I picked some up, LOVE them. They hit like 18650's and have extra amps and mAh, love them.
Ya, If I ever purchase a MOD that takes 26650, i would pick some of those up as well. Some people have issues with having multiple types of batteries laying around, but I would get them just for the extra mAh on them.

I personally would get the Alien or stick with the 213 plus. The Joyetech Primo would be an Alien killer if not for the sketchy 510 connector.

I've got the 2/3 and what everyone says about the janky 510 is true. It works but it's not a great mod. Couple months in and it's starting to feel cheap. The Asmodus Minikin 2 has been one of my favorite mods in a while. Great form factor, love the slightly rubberized texture, very simple operation with the touchscreen and lots of cool features including a wattage curve setting to really dial in your vape.

I voted Alien. I have an Alien and a G-Priv and tend to reach for the Alien. Feels great in my hand and has worked flawlessly for over 2 months. The finish is holding up perfectly as well. The G-Priv is bigger and heavier. The touch screen is cool, but the coolness factor fades quickly.

I had a 2/3 (and a couple of RX200's) and I wasn't a huge fan.

I hear nothing but great things about the Battlestar, but I haven't used one.

Lots of great options these days for sure.

Wow guys , just wow! Thank you all so much for the awesome detailed feedback ! After reviewing everyone's thoughts I was really set on picking up an alien . I headed over to my favorite local vape shop and tested it out , and after speaking with the shop owner, he told me the paint on the alien really started to wear badly and chip, and even showed me his 2 month old alien, which showed SERIOUS signs of wear and tear, and he said he was not overly hard on it. Also, I did not like the way it felt , and wasn't a huge fan of the firing bar. I opted for the rx 2/3, even though I heard bad things about the 510, it was a great deal as it was on sale and even came with 2x FRED LG HG2 "doodoo " browns. So I just had to buy a 3rd , which was also on sale, for 8.99...which means I walked out of there with a mod and 3x batteries for $56...needless to say, I was quite happy.

I have tested every atty I own on this new 2/3, and all of them sit flush aND make a connection no problem . I think I just got lucky and got one of the good 510s . With the new firmware update for this device, I get a AWESOME preheat setting, which has greatly increased my vape quality when running thicker wires with any type of ramp up on them . The preheat setting totally negates ANY ramp up on larger sized fused Claptons , aliens, and staple coils that I have in some of my favorite daily use attys.

Thanks again guys , much love to everyone who posted! I will check back if this thread keeps going and let you all know if I gave Any issues at all with my 2/3, but after a couple of days, I freaking love it. It's the most comfortable mod I have ever held, as I said, I have huge hands and this little banger feels great in both 2 battery mode, and 3 battery mode . I have been enjoying it mostly in 2 battery mode, around 60-80 W, with a preheat between 75-100W, depending on my build and mood. Regardless , I can say I highly recommend this rx2/3 to anyone!
