What really is Max VG, and why is some really thin?

First post here. I vape Max VG unflavored nicotine base from Perfectvape, and it has great cloud production, and is very thick. And cheap. 32 oz for just over $20.00 shipped. I've seen and tried some flavored juices labeled Max VG and they're very thin. What constitutes "Max VG?" I do realize the flavoring needs to be added to the VG base. Are flavors not "infused" with VG and then added to unflavored base? I'm deathly allergic to PG, like really badly, and I tend to think that PG is being used in this alleged "Max VG" juice. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

From what I remember when I use to buy store bought Max VG just means that the only PG used is in the flavors, no other PG is added. You would need to look for 100% VG which would be mixed with VG nic and VG flavors. This is pretty rare though only because there is not a lot of variety of VG flavors.

mjag got it. the only PG is in the flavoring. So if it's 15% flavoring, it's 85/15 vg/pg. This is why "max vg" can be a different ratio for different juices/recipes

Thanks guys, that definitely helps, and makes perfect sense. I figured I'd try some flavors out, and after vaping unflavored base, everything just tastes strange to me.

Thanks again.

Just thought I would mention that some cheaper brands add distilled water to lower production costs and this makes the juice less viscous. Premium companied can also do this if they think their juice is too thick and are aiming it at tank users where the wicking of thick VG juices can be an issue.

Oh yeah, one more thing to ask - what's up with a lot of Max VG juice being marketed as premium because it's high in VG? VG costs less in bulk than PG does lol

Sounds like some shady marketing to me...

Vaping is full of rip-off artists...originally high VG juices were made for people who were concerned about PG being an unsafe ingrdient to use...these people were health concious and usually wanted not only 100% VG juice but natural flavorings and even high quality VG.....but then the market shifted to cater to cloud chasers...the Max VG gave them bigger clouds and a much lower throat hit, they tended to be people who could care less about what was in their juice as long as it gave them big clouds and little throat hit. There was a time when Max VG meant something about the quality of the juice ...that is no longer the case.....

The fact that people are paying $12 for 15 ml - quite frequently - is willingly getting ripped off. As I said, I got 946 ml (32 ounces) unflavored for $22.44 shipped. I've noticed that there are a lot of aspects of the industry that are scams. E-juice manufacturers are making money hand over fist. I'm sure the "overhead" argument will come in to try to justify how grossly overpriced the product actually is. Give it a fancy label and a cool name, and voila, massive markup. My VG stuff produces huge vapor volume... I'll stick to my perfectvape stuff lol

to get the quality of a meal I can prepare myself at a restaurant I'd have to pay 35-50 dollars a plate...same with e-juice you can get high quality e-juice for alot less if you DIY....otherwise you pay through the nose for it. go to any 5 star resaraunt and just about nobody eating there can cook worth a damn if they could they wouldn't be there. or they have so much money 50 dollars a plate is trifeling.

Max VG is just a Loose Term used for selling juice. Go to most eliquid calculaters they have a Max VG option. Just the option to not add any additional PG other then what is in Flavor and Nicotine.

So really the term means nothing.. Max VG could mean any percentage of VG/PG.
