The Star Wars Black Series Bo-Katan helmet is the latest entry in a very solid collection of premium electronic helmets from Hasbro's top-end Star Wars collectibles line.
This helmet is based on the version seen in The Mandalorian, making it realistic as opposed to a hypothetical Clone Wars version, which would be cool, don't get me wrong, but naturally lean towards an animation style.
If you're unfamiliar with the Black Series helmet line, they're basically cosplay-level replicas of the movie and show props, with tons of awesome details to add further to their sense of authenticity.
In the case of the Bo-Katan helmet, there's an eletronic rangefinder similar to the one found in the now-hard-to-find Boba Fett helmet. (Well... it's hard to find at retail pricing). Basically you flip down the rangefinder and there are 2 LEDs "that flash in a hunting pattern." There's also a "white LED-illuminated heads-up display."
On top of aesthetic touches, the Black Series helmets are padded, quite nicely I might add, making them comfortable to actually wear. And the padding isn't that weird black foam from Halloween costumes, it's actually great quality and fits with the overall aesthetic theme of the piece.
The Bo-Katan Black Series Helmet joins the Leia Organa Black Series Lightsaber in release later this year.
