Where to go now?

Hello

I'm relatively new to vaping, I've only been doing it for about a month now. I'm a former smoker/current vaper, and I love it.

Here's my issue: I currently have a Kanger Aerotank clearomizer ( 1.5ohm dual-coil, dunno if there are multiple kinds) with a 1650 mAh Vision II Spinner battery. I like this setup, and it produces a decent amount of vapor for me (at least with fresh coils) but I want more -- more vapor and more throat-hit and flavor.

I have no doubt that I'll eventually get really into all the different kinds of devices, dripping etc. but right now it's a little disorienting. What I want is a device/setup for day-in-day-out use that produces more vapor on a more consistent basis than my current setup.

I do not mind learning how to build coils or anything, in fact I think that sounds fun. Where I mainly need help is in what kind of setup would be good to get and what I need. Should I go ahead and spring for a mechanical mod with a RBA, or is there an atomizer/clearomizer out there I could use with my current battery that would produce the next level of vapor from what I have right now?

I'm willing to spend somewhere in the general range of 100-150 bucks (including battery charger etc. )

Thanks for any help

Hello @Amir_Wazir

I love my Ego/Evod type batteries. Nothing wrong with them if it works for you. But sounds like you wanna move on up... I would suggest you start with a regulated device.... MVP2, VAMO, VAPORSHARK, or eLeaf IStick are all really good VV (variable voltage) mods. Since your so new to vaping, you really need to learn Ohm's law and how different coils and clearos can make a difference.

As far as Vapor and throat hit. Your juice makes a big difference here.
High PG = throat hit, higher nic = throat hit, High VG = Vapor, and flavor depends on the vendor making the juice.
If you've got the right juice, you can get just as much clouds off of a VV Mod as you can a mechanical.

Kanger Aerotank is a good atty. If you open up the airflow this will help with larger clouds, but you'll sacrifice on flavor. Me personally, I like my flavor so I keep things on the lower end under 8 watts and I use 2.4 ohm coils so they don't burn the juice as easily.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm about to order a VAMO I think. It definitely sounds like a good idea to get a variable mod at first, I just saw all those pretty copper and brass mech mods and wanted one right away. It's cool though, with the amount of money I'm saving by vaping instead of using analogs I'll be able to buy one whenever I feel I'm ready.

If youre looking for a tank atomizer for all day, and are comfortable rebuilding coils (can always get help from the community, or message me directly) i highly recommend a solid kayfun or kayfun clone. There are a lot of bad clones out there though, so if you choose to go that route, please consult someone who knows what to look for.

I have to agree the VAMO is a great rig when you get started. I used mine for a year before switching over to a provari. The latter is technically less advanced feature wise but I just likes the fit and finish better and I find the power delivery to be far better (even confirmed on my tektronix scope). That said I would highly recommend something like the VAMO to start off with and get used to vv/vw setups.

I routing advise folks to start off in the lower to mid cost before getting anything swanky, especially if just starting off.

You can put an rba/rda on a regulated mod. Just have to check the low end of the mod's ohm range.

But if you decide to go with mech and rda, know it's easier than people say. Just divide 4.2/x, where x is the ohm you wanna use. That tells you how many amps you're pulling. Then find a battery with a continuous discharge rating AT LEAST that high. And find reliable info (google "pbusardo battery info") because some battery makers and vendors will bullshit you to make a sale..

Get an ohm meter and smart charger, and you're set to build safely, after a lot of reading/watching of course. You can pm me if you want a more detailed guide. Good luck.

Thanks for the helpful responses everyone. I purchased and have now received a VAMO V6 20W, which I am very happy with. I'm using it with my Aerotank and the new 0.8 ohm dual coils they're putting out now. I went ahead and got a Nitecore i4 intellicharger as well, which I understand is a good charger and has plenty of room for future expansion.

Thanks for the input, I've been considering buying a Kayfun or Kayfun Lite clone next paycheck. Could you recommend one?

You can try the mechanical mod . Try to change coils by your self to make more vapor .

That's a decent set up and should get you started. There's a lot of help here and you can utilize Youtube to learn about building coils. Familiarize yourself with ohms law and always practice safety. I suggest you charge batteries away from anything flammable. If you want to increase clouds you may want to focus on increasing your VG in your juices. It has high viscosity which can make wicking an issue. I used to get my juice here when I vaped VG and they are pure organic www.virginvapor.com. I've also noticed that their juices tend to wick easier and don't gunk up coils as fast as others. Enjoy your vape!
