Where to now?

Afternoon all! I posted several months back and off the advice I ended up with the Eleaf iPower 80W mod and the the Nautilus 2 tank. Which have been absolutely spectacular. Not only do I not smoke anymore, I can't stand it haha. I've delved into making my own juices here and there and I too am enjoying that working out what I like best.

However, time to move on has come and I'm in the market for a new mod and tank.

I'm certainly a direct to lung smoker with huge intakes as I only do one intake here and there. The nautilus has one major draw back for me, not enough air flow, it takes too much effort and I burn out the coils within a few days. I'm looking for something with similar battery capacity (5000mAh) and adjustability in terms of wattage. I also want a larger tank, 2ml is simply not enough and I have to refill at least twice a day.

Flavor is a big player in this as well, I want the best possible if that can be matched with the above requirements.

So, any suggestions? I don't with to delve into coil making just yet so that doesn't matter.

First thing I though of was a Sqounker.

Not ready to make your own coils? Try getting Pre Wrapped Coils and just installing them yourself. Easy Peasy.

A charger and a couple of 3 batteries and you are good to go.

I realize that you wanted something with a permanent internal battery.

To be honest, I don't like them because when the battery goes, so does the mod into landfill somewhere.

If you want a sub ohm with great flavour and a longer draw I’d say next tank look at something like the cobra from asvape it won’t be a dramatic transition for you in terms of wattage requirements you’ll be able to use the same mod (win win)

...if you hit the big boys you might well find them a little overwhelming plus they often come with wider drip tips however I do like the fireluke a lot it’s a great tank you will want a dual battery mod for this one so many decent mods out there

I don't mind making up my own coils (well, ordering pre made and installing with wick) as I need to learn at some point. My main question with squonking is how often will I have to pump to keep the wick damp enough for satisfactory flavour? Let's say I puff 10 times within a couple of minutes, will one pump of the tank do? Or once per intake?

No probably not you’ll be squeezing every 5 or puffs it depends on the atty and how deep it’s reservoir is though ....if you want to go rebuildable route that opens up a massive amount of options

And for this you have tanks, drippers/bottom feeders (squonkers), and dripper tanks (reservoir sits underneath instead of on top)

RDA- The Oumier Wasp nano is about as easy as it gets for a start out and it’s cheap although I prefer the Oumier VLS which is now similar price ...I really like the Advken gorge too although if you want a dual coil the Drop RDA is a belter

RTA- Tanks you can still use that fireluke and use its rebuildable deck to be honest this still might be a good option cause you can use both premade and do it yourself although the IJoY Exo is a fantastic alrounder and one of best performers out there for its price

RDTA - bombertech pindad or ijoy combo 2 both solid in this category

Ever since I started wicking my own rda's with pre-made coils, I've never looked back.
This may seem a little melodramatic, but a comparison would be to liken it to having a carnal relationship without the use of condoms.
Once you go there you never want to go back haha.
The squonking part isn't an issue at all. I check down the mouth piece of my rda's and you can see with a lot of them if they need it or not.
Another plus, is that they are more juice efficient on juice than a sub ohm tank. (In my opinion)

Cool, ok, another question, what is the hit like? I dislike nicotine hit and specially heat. After reading up a lot, it seems that heat and hit is something people enjoy from squonking/dripping.

Heat from vapour can be controlled through wattage setting and coil type or do you mean the rda?

Not even suffered "premade coils", although I have used some clapton-on-a-spool.

A common term is "throat hit" - and frankly, I can drink everclear or get a cold, so that is a fail for me.
Another term is "clouds" - and they don't interest me, other than in terms of "where the fuck is my vapor?"

"Flavor" is another term, completely subjective - as is "warm" and "cold" and "hot". I think most of us, (being escapees from the cigarette camps), want something at least "warm". HOT is too much like self-abuse, and COLD is something I think of for smoking meats.

A regulated squonk would be ideal for you then because you can choose your wattage (and therefore the temperature of the vape).
With squonking, everyone I know vapes on 2mg's of nicotine or less. Im about to drop mine down to 1mg. You will find an amount that satisfies you but without giving you a throat hit that you don't like.
I've had a G-box for a couple of months and couldn't be happier with it.
The rda supplied with it, the Radar, is pretty average. Use an rda that you enjoy using instead (it will need to be squonk compatible ie come with a squonking 510 pin)
I have a digiflavor drop and a Goon v1.5 and enjoy them both. The drop is good because it isn't a cloud chucker so much and has a deep well so it's hard to over squonk it and have your juice spilling out of your air vents.

I will say: the gbox 200? I can't learn to love TC - either TCR or SS. Neither work WELL for me. I do try them almost daily, but I tend to stick with pure VW or the VPC. ..The latter is great when you hit one or two VW that work, so you throw up yer hands and say "fuck it, average the bastards". ;-)

I haven't used any of its functions, other than lock and watts. I think the the main objective of this units release was to bring out a safe squonker for anyone new to vaping so they don't blow their face off. Lol.
They've achieved that, my face is still here.
I'm going to pick up my first mech today, a vape mech pro. Looking forward to it.

Morning guys,

Sorry I deserted the post a bit. Today I made the plunge and bought some goodies. The following:

iJoy Capo 100W Squonker kit (w/ Comba RDA Triangle) - My choice for this was based on the depth of the RDA and ease of build, making my first deck build open and easy for mistakes to be made and also the depth allowing me to learn the right amount of 'squonking' without too much of a risk of overflow.

I got 2 brands of cotton, japenese organic cotton and Bacon v2 cotton. Just heard good things about both, figured I'd give them both a shot.

Coilology Multi-strands fused clapton... Not much input on why I chose these, there is very little research to be done with coils, pros and cons to styles etc. So I went with these as they were on the same site as ordering the squonk mod and seemed to be fairly well accepted by customers. Coils are something I feel I'm just going to have to try out my self and see how I get on with them.

I got a couple of iJoy 21700 (3750mAh) batteries for 2 reasons, battery life is a big part to me and I know there are likely much better batteries out there, but I kept in line with the same vendor purely for warranty reasons whilst I get to grips with the basics of squonking.

I also got a little kit with all the basics needed (Coil Master DIY Kit V3) so hopefully this makes things a little easier. As a full time adult child and tinkerer, chances are high I'll have everything I need anyway but I certainly don't have ceramic tweezers and plus, I'd like a little toolkit purely for this 'hobby'.

I imagine I'll be up and running early next week so I'll update on how I'm getting along with it!
