so if everybody but us vapers is jumping on the "make vaping laws the same as those for tobacco" bandwagon, why are e-cig commercials allowed on TV? regular cigarette commercials haven't been permitted for many years.

and btw, those commercials for RJ Reynolds (BT) Vuse ecigs are ridiculous.

Oh yeah, I think it is vuse that says they are the first digital e-cig in their commercial. I guess that could be correct if they say cigalike or whatever thsy want to call it but a general blanket statement like first digi e-cig... no.

In a way it works to our favor as according to the FCC e-cigs are not tobacco products. If they were TV advertising would be forbidden. Sets a nice precedent for a branch of the federal government to make that distinction.

I suppose if a certain E-cig company(probably owned by PM) is willing to pay big buck to get a spot, they will get it and right now E-cigs are not banned or outlawed YET from advertising, so I image they can do what they want and the television Station/owners will use them until as sponsors when and if they are told they cannot . I have not the facts for my comment, just guessing.

Because we're not using tobacco products. There has been no regulation on vaping yet so they can do whatever they want.
The decision currently set before the FDA is whether to classify e-cigs as tobacco products or pharmaceutical products.
I say let vapers be vapers but that's just me.

we realize that they are not tobacco products, but they are treated like tobacco products almost everywhere. except on tv, obviously.

It's the individual states that have banned vaping not the fed. Banning vaping was a knee jerk reaction made popular because it looks like we're smoking tobacco and the states have control over their individual clean air acts. When it comes to regulating tobacco and parmacuticles that is where the fed steps in. I'm glad they have TV commercials. Makes us look less like the devil.

Personally I think the regulations will allow cigalikes and ban mods. I'm stocking up man.

they can ban all they want. people will still get them. prohibition never works with anything that people really want. ;)

I agree. But just in case there's a shortage in the beginning I'm stocking up on juice. Also, just made my first DIY purchase to start prcticing. I really hope boutique eJuice makers find a way to stay in business. There is some real tasty juice out there and more coming every day. Just found out about this little gem yesterday. Got my first sample on the way! Golden Truffle http://www.johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com/shop/smoke-juicehtml

I've got a dozen mechs and around 18 atty's. It's the juice I'm worried about. I think it's sites like this that will keep the movement alive.

Not just the first, but the only, they claim, lol. "A perfect puff every time" I believe is the slogan. Such bullshit. The Blu ones have been around for a while, with Jenny McCarthey, and Stephen Dorff.

The real question should be 'Where is our vaping advocacy commercials?' Groups of all makes and models spring forth every month accepting large sums of money for the "protection and testing" of related vaping products. Yet, I have yet to see one commercial that frames the industry as a positive. With all the excess cash can't we get a Time advertisement or some commercials?
Every hour on the hour it's another commercial about the latest pill...
Are you feeling blue? Do you hate having to work for a living? Rethinking those kids you have? Try plex-o-tren-a-dex. Within 48 hours you'll be in a psychosis state of numb enabling you to forget even the most important members of your own family. Ask your doctor if plex-o-tren-a-dex is right for you.
May cause pancreatic shifting, hair loss of the outer anus, belly dancing, sleep twerking and a mild rash of the imagination.

We have to know that all major legislative and political decisions are won in the court of public argument framing. So again...where is my damn commercial? I want Ellen doing a jig with a box mod and a Morgan Freeman voice over saying "We know a lot about vaping...and yes, there is still more to learn...but one thing's for sure...It isn't smoking." You could hear his smooth silky voice couldn't you?

lol every hour? you are lucky man!! it's more like every ad break for me

the thing that really gets me about these pharm ads is the line they all have in the end "ask your doctor about xyz"

since when do patients ask doctors for prescriptions? i thought it was supposed to be the other way around

meanwhile we have to concede to the rules of tobacco... These ads tell you in the ad that they will make you commit suicide. Huh?

There's one with Phil mickelson in the commercial that says it may cause leukemia, and it's for arthritis...yeah I'll take arthritis over even a .1% chance of leukemia.
