What's everyones go to cotton? I'm gonna start building coils soon and like to get some ready to go cotton. I've been looking at cotton bacon.

just go to the make-up counter in a department store like macy's or nordstroms and ask for a box of cotton facial pads...300 pads in a box for $11 to $13 dollars... the really thick pads are koh gen do, the middle thickness pads are shi-shee-do and the really thin ones arent really useable as wicking...

discovered this by accident when the girlfriends sister came to stay for a while...hers were from sephora beauty store or the likes...

+1 on the Koh Gen Do. I got mine off Amazon. 80 pads for $11 - Free Prime shipping
Funny all the reviews are about vaping wick. It's a lifetime supply if something better doesn't come along.

I've used silica, cotton balls, cotton yarn, SS mesh, and Rayon, but my favorite is KGD and I use it in all of my atomizers. I like how quickly and easily I can consistently roll good wicks for different diameter coils and I prefer the taste to other materials that I've tried.

+1 for Koh Gen Do. I got a pack of 80 for $23 here in Canada. But 80 pads will last forever. Each pad can do 10-20 wicks i would assume

I just bought a bag of 80 organic cotton pads from the SuperStore here in NS for $6. Cheap and work great.

I get the organic cotton balls from walgreens, they work great.
One day I was at a discount pharmacy and they had a bag of normal cotton balls for a dollar, so I figured id buy them. They sucked. The fibers were much more fragile than the more expensive bag of organic cotton balls. It was surprising. I thought they'd all be the same.

I tried Japanese cotton many times in all my devices. I don't like it. At all. I much prefer the $4 bag of organic cotton balls from Walgreens.

I've used sterile gauze, organic cotton, Cellucotton (rayon) and am just starting to use Koh Gen Do. From what I've experienced so far with the KGD, that and rayon are tied in the ability to move juice. I won't be using plain organic cotton or gauze again.

I have that on my shopping list. I still have some from somewhere online, a sample baggie for $2.
Cellucotton (rayon)
I got a free sample with an order from Vices Electronic Cigarettes. I switch between the two. The Japanese cotton
is easier for me to use with micro coils and the rayon works good for smaller stuff and cloud puffs.

Koh Gen Do and rayon. KGD is easy breezy to wick into the coil, both wick juice fabulously but if I'm going out camping or something where I might not want to spend time wicking / dorking around I use rayon because the wicks last a lot longer than KGD. For me anyway.

Using Koh Gen Do.

Also have Labo and Shiseido but havn't tried them yet.
The Labo looks exactly the same as the KGD, the Shiseido looks more processed.

I've been using the MUJI Japanese Organic Cotton.

Also available on Amazon with free Prime shipping.

$7.90

I can't tell much of a difference between this and the KGD. For half the price you get twice as much.

For anyone who has tried rayon (cellucotton) and hated it (like myself), my pro tip is DONT TOUCH IT!!. Once I started tearing off a longer piece than I needed, then stretching and twisting it from the ends (carefully not touching the part that was gonna be my wick), wicking slightly tighter than cotton (only slightly!!), I started to love it.
Now I use it for everything. However, where cotton is concerned, I still stick with my post #12 on this thread. I like boiled organic cotton balls way more than jap cotton..... scottish roll or not.

I love this stuff...
EHookah-Drago-Cotton-L.jpg

Best flavor I've had to date. I also like Rayon and Japanese organic as well, but this stuff is the best I used. You can get it at fluidvapes.com for $5.99.. only thing is it can be a bit tricky to work with.

+1 to native wicks, little pricey but worth it super long strands wicks like crazy. I saw a video of a guy catching it on fire via dry burn re-dripping and said the flavor was like he just wicked, after I saw the video I said "well now I have to try it." I can confirm this is true, pretty bizarre, but true non the less.
