Wrapping mesh coils

Hi, I'm new to wrapping coils and I'm having a lot of trouble with mesh. I got a steam turbine clone and tried to wrap it and failed hard. Can anyone give me the steps or advice?

If it's hot spots u can pick at them and they can go away and also char the mesh Really good
