Hot off the success of Kingsman: The Secret Service, 20th Century Fox and director Matthew Vaughn are reportedly reuniting for a feature film revival of sci-fi icon Flash Gordon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project was originally scripted by Star Trek 3's J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. John Davis (Predator, Chronicle) will produce the film with George Nolfi.
Created by Alex Raymond, Flash Gordon was a Depression-era hero of comic strips and big screen serials who spawned live-action and animated TV incarnations in the ensuing decades as well as a cult classic 1980 movie (which was paid tribute to in Seth MacFarlane's comedy Ted) and further comic book series.
