While we're still a year away from Fox's trifecta of 2015 X-Men films (X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool and Gambit), the future of the franchise is becoming more clear. We just learned that The Fault In Our Stars director Josh Boone has signed a deal to co-write and direct a New Mutants movie, one that will debut a new generation of mutant heroes.
We don't know much about Fox's plans for the New Mutants movie, as it's probably several years down the road at least. For now, we thought it would be a good time to break down what exactly the New Mutants are and how they might fit into Fox's ongoing plans for the X-Men franchise.
