Fingers crossed she calls!!!

Cigarettes are so insidious both physiologically and physically it's unbelievable.

I would probably be that person who couldn't quit despite chemo and feel for her situation. I'd probably be the person who smokes with an oxygen tank.

I know that vaping has saved my life and hope it can help save hers.

You are a good, good friend dude. Truly.
I believe most of us feel the same way. All we can do is try to help others who know nothing about vaping. She is in her 70's, I doubt she has heard anything but falsehoods about vaping....it's really sad.

Poor thing - going at it alone. It sure would help her if her husband could get on board with vaping.
He only smokes a cigar once in a blue-moon. But he should certainly applaud her for trying to quit, although he is under the impression she already quit. He's a good man, I'm sure he will help, not be pissed off because she can't quit on her own.

Today I was with a friend of mine and his wife who just finished her last round of chemotherapy about a month ago.

Her hair is beginning to grow back and she's starting to gain some weight, she really looks good compared to the last time I seen her. My buddy Mike went to talk to a caddy in back of the clubhouse...his wife says I'll be back in a minute. She's gone for about 5 minutes and sits back down. I can instantly smell cigarette smoke. I couldn't believe my nose. I said you smoked a cigarette?. She says yes, please don't tell Mike, he thinks I quit. All I could think is wow, this is unbelievable. Then I thought I could be this person, perhaps I couldn't quit either.

She didn't know I vaped, I don't publicise it around people. Anyway, I leaned over and said to her please call me when you have a few minutes, I have something very important to explain which could potentially get you off from the cigarettes. She says give me a clue would you please. I said you need to try vaping. I'll explain everything when I hear from you, as I could see Mike walking back to our table.

This has really been bothering me this evening....I still can't believe after weeks of chemo she still couldn't stop smoking. I wonder how many hundreds of thousands of people just like her are doing the exact same thing, smoking themselves to death when they have a slight chance of living longer just by tossing the smokes out and vaping.

I'll do my damndest to get her set up with a simple battery and atomizer. This just stuns me though, the grip chemicals in cigarettes have on people. What stuns me more is the fact the government would like it this way.

Hopefully she calls tomorrow, so I can ask her to please meet me at a vape shop nearby.

If you need ANYTHING at all, just let me know. I have PLENTY of brand new, never used starter stuff for people JUST like this. Ego AIO starter kits, spare coils for STM's, wicking, tips, barely used 18650's, 510 drip atty's, I even have quite a few bottles of 24mg home made Doc Iguana™® King Cake juice, an almost new Smok Xcube2, some never used tank from an ECF contest, all kindsa stuff. Only thing I'm short on ATM seems to be chargers. This is what I do!

Most people that secretly smoke only think their spouse or significant other don't know they smoke. You smelled it on her, right? God love her, I hope she calls, too. That's such a sad story, and further angers me about these regs. FDA, please, just go suck a big fat one.

Doctors need to get on board more with vaping too --- especially when you consider the astronomically high failure rate on quitting actual tobacco.

The "all or nothing" approach does not work for tobacco addiction

Had not considered the first amendment aspect. Vapers might qualify in that regard too. If you think about it vaping could be seen as a form of expression. Consumers express satisfaction with Big Tobacco by vaping. Consumers express freedom of choice by vaping. There's a few different ways that could be seen.

Waking up over some :coffee: here. So, good morning everyone and :finger: GFY. I'll :coffee2: for everyone. I'm not going to keep :deadhorse: though. Y'all riled my blood to near boil yesterday. That ain't no good because go emotionless and black out. I genuinely have sociopath in my family line, we get like that. "Today's list, three random from any phone book. Two dead before breakfast, yay."

It does work for some. My wife and a couple friends quit smoking several years ago. Cold turkey.
There are different levels of addiction depending on your psychological and genetic makeup. imho.

Good morning Fugees & fellow VU friends! And so the lawsuits begin! I just wish there was more on-shore money available! My other hope is that most if not all of the B&Ms & online vendors will join together in a class action suit! If anybody knows a legit organization to donate money for the fight please post here! I'm no organizer of people or mutants but I'm a very vocal member of a group that believes as I do! Time to get ready for compensated adulting! My biggest problem is that alot of us are spending our time licking wounds that haven't been inflicted or prepping for bans that don't exist yet! I don't have the how answers but I'm sure some of my fellow vapers here do! I don't have to know everything I just need to know who or where to get the answers from!:blowkiss::shades:

Yeah, if I were someone like Halo, who had 6 or whatever variants, of 100 flavors...
Hmm.. 600 MILLION dollars in FDA applications with no certain outcome, which would be an impossible sum to come up with, or 6 Million in attorney fees with no certain outcome, but a loss of which will mean the end of my business, which is dead for sure now anyway.

It's only logical what route to choose. This would be a good time for these ejuice manufacturers to set up a legal fund, each pledge an equivalent of last years sales or some fraction thereof, and have at it buying the best damn legal minds they can find. They are all either going to sink or swim, and their best chance is being in the same pool, propping each other up.

I have LIFTING to do today. HEAVY lifting. Someone must lift boat hoist and put in lake. Someone must lift buffing wheel and buff out and wax exterior of boat. Someone must lift boat in lift, and wire fancy LED mood lighting into recesses of boat. Someone must lift various other lakefront accessories and moorings into place. I am going to lift my coffee and my vape, and watch the magic. It is good to have minions.

Nothing would surprise me at this point:blah:

I do think they already regulate caffeine. *chuckles* Was not intending to pull a stupidly obvious self-depreciating snipe in that, did anyway. *chuckles* The sniping was intended to slight them. So many regulations, you get lost going around the bend and realize the stick you got isn't long enough to touch the bases. :)

I can totally believe it -- I developed adult-onset asthma at the age of 24, when I'd only smoked for 10 yrs, but never could quit smoking... even when I was gasping, barely able to breathe at all, 50% of what I inhaled was usually cigarette smoke. With a cold, even with a case of flu so bad that just getting out of bed to go to the bathroom felt a lot like running a marathon... or a 10k at the very least... I still had to smoke. Because the addict in the brain doesn't care about the person, the whole body, it only cares about getting what it NEEDS. That's why I always say that it takes MIND to defeat BRAIN, but even mind has a hard time of it, without a little help -- such as a good substitute, like vaping -- mind knows it's really not the same thing at all, but brain doesn't know that, brain just knows it's not being deprived, or at least, so little deprived that it doesn't pitch too big a fit.

If she doesn't call you... CALL HER. This news is too good to keep to ourselves.

Andria
