Today I was with a friend of mine and his wife who just finished her last round of chemotherapy about a month ago.
Her hair is beginning to grow back and she's starting to gain some weight, she really looks good compared to the last time I seen her. My buddy Mike went to talk to a caddy in back of the clubhouse...his wife says I'll be back in a minute. She's gone for about 5 minutes and sits back down. I can instantly smell cigarette smoke. I couldn't believe my nose. I said you smoked a cigarette?. She says yes, please don't tell Mike, he thinks I quit. All I could think is wow, this is unbelievable. Then I thought I could be this person, perhaps I couldn't quit either.
She didn't know I vaped, I don't publicise it around people. Anyway, I leaned over and said to her please call me when you have a few minutes, I have something very important to explain which could potentially get you off from the cigarettes. She says give me a clue would you please. I said you need to try vaping. I'll explain everything when I hear from you, as I could see Mike walking back to our table.
This has really been bothering me this evening....I still can't believe after weeks of chemo she still couldn't stop smoking. I wonder how many hundreds of thousands of people just like her are doing the exact same thing, smoking themselves to death when they have a slight chance of living longer just by tossing the smokes out and vaping.
I'll do my damndest to get her set up with a simple battery and atomizer. This just stuns me though, the grip chemicals in cigarettes have on people. What stuns me more is the fact the government would like it this way.
Hopefully she calls tomorrow, so I can ask her to please meet me at a vape shop nearby.
