That actually doesn't work, and in some courtrooms will get you held in contempt. Be on the safe side and don't try it... I'll never forget the shocked look on a potential jurer's face when he got fined $500 dollars for saying something along those lines in a California Superior Court.
Well shit. Luckily the one time I got jury duty I just had to call a number and they said they didn't need me

Yeah, it's funny cause the one time I was in the courtroom for jury duty vs work (which was going to get me out of it anyway) I kept watching the defense attorney ask potential jurors if they believed that cops told the truth just because they were cops. And I watched person after person say no. Dumbest group of people I've ever seen. The guy was just looking for people to dismiss and not a single person bit on it.

Most states accept volunteers. Many retired people do it.

I'm extremely empathic and highly perceptive. . I understood your point of view from the beginning. I just didn't agree with your inability to understand where grampa was coming from and your need to insult him for it. Perhaps I took it wrong. I don't even associate the word retard with people who have a genuine disability. I would never even consider using that word to describe someone who does. Maybe you should try to do the same.

I'm saying don't associate that word to you or your situation. If someone personally attacks you or a loved one with it, by all means, be offended. Chances are you're not going to change the world, but you can change how you react to it.

Well I'm in a courtroom, not in the initial 18, so I hope I get out of this. It's a civil case, I think I can say that much, so my DA relationship ain't gonna do anything for me.

Good luck and make sure that you pay attention to how long they say that the trial is going to last versus how much jury pay you get from your employer.
It's okay to make it clear that you do not have vacation time to donate to a lengthy trial and that going without pay for even a couple of days would be a financial hardship on your family.
They WILL try to trip you up on this point on a multi-day trial and get you to agree that you get jury duty pay from your employer and therefore are able to sit on a multi-day trial. Phrase your responses in terms of the trial lasts X days, I get Y days and missing Z days of pay will be a financial hardship. It also amazes me how many people don't pay attention to these crucial points.

Why is it men always ask to speak to someone who could answer some questions??? GRRR what am I chopped liver?? Its ok tho not only did I answer his questions, I made him feel stupid. Actually told me i was the most knowledgeable person he has spoken with today.
