Sad to say it, but I think you're all too right on this. Damn shame it's coming to this. This is just the beginning of the contraction of the industry which means higher prices and less selection.
Seems like the larger shops will be able to weather the storm. The smaller guys are going to have a rough time. I sure hope this gets shot down. It'd be a real shame if I have to become a criminal just because I don't want to smoke cigarettes.
Online? I could photoshop an id with a fake photo of kim jong il, the name 'fook yoo' and they'd never be able to prove otherwise. They're also asking for ssn which is NOT part of a state issue id. Or at least it's not mine, I specifically asked for a license number to be issued so my ssn isn't floating around with my picture.
Who asks for SSN to buy vape gear?!? I've never seen that one. I've had to click to acknowledge that I'm over 18. And had to put my DOB into a few sites, but no one has ever asked for my SSN.
seems like we could take a pic of our drivers licence and send it to them in an email/upload.I had an online shop in Texas ask last May. I declined to go through with the sale.

the SSN is not for identification. The government can ask for it, but retailers and other places, I refuse. My cell phone carrier tried to get me to provide one several times, I was grandfathered in without one. They went as far as saying they would cancel my service, so I had my lawyer send them a threat-o-gram with a $$ sum attached that I would be taking them to court for a bad faith contract. They backed the hell off.I had an online shop in Texas ask last May. I declined to go through with the sale.
in that case, the ss administration does allow you a restart...Yea I thought the same thing f1r3b1rd, until one day a few years ago I went to buy a soda at a local convenience store. They handed my card back saying it was declined. Several more attempts, no dice. Not that I had a lot in the bank but when the last $800 you had in the bank is gone try getting gas for your car. Apparently someone in France, Lebanon and a couple other european countries wanted to be me for a short while, that's where my bank tracked the transactions to. Thankfully they were on top of it and it took 'only' around 10 days to get my money back from the bank. Those 10 days though I had to borrow gas money from my coworkers until it got sorted and I could pay them back. Common people and broke people aren't exempt, just sayin.

a nice tactic might be to ask for the bonding # of the insurance policy that covers identity theft for the customer up to $100K per incident. If they want to ask for personal identifiable information, the vape company should provide the same. They won't of course, they will just lose sales. Screw the FDA.
Instead of being just an Evil Vulcan, I'm an old, grouchy, Evil Vulcan. You remember those freaky little Tribbles? I went back in time and beamed a bunch to a shuttle that was going to Earth. Iowa is fully infested now. China is eating them. <--- Zombie Tribble.OFF TOPIC: You shaved your beard
They are quite tasty with Duck Sauce.
Having three credit cards jacked 10 YEARS ago, I don't fiddle fuck around with my identity. Period.
It sure isn't tin foil hat shit. I worked very hard to have the credit I do. I would kill a mother fucker who would fuck that up.
Problem is, when your identity is stolen, 99% of the time you never know who it was. You are just fucked, and left to deal with the aftermath of it. Most times the identity thief isn't even caught.
You guys really shouldn't take it as a joke. You don't realize how serious that shit is, until it happens to you.
just ignore the trolling. you did your best to warn them and others. you can lead a horse to water.....Having three credit cards jacked 10 YEARS ago, I don't fiddle fuck around with my identity. Period.

robo signers/approvers,, same people who approve cats and dogs for loansTo be honest, I don't know what idiot underwriter/loan officer would even approve a mortgage for someone who doesn't have any credit. You have to borrow money to even have credit.
Getting a mortgage is the most difficult thing one ever does. You can get approved on an 80k car loan in the snap of your fingers. Getting a mortgage takes 90 days. It's hard to believe the bank wasn't in on the scam, since all the times you actually have to show your face to people in the process of buying a home.
Glad it turned out in your favor.

Cool. I could search the internet for my doppelganger's drivers license and print one off for me. He can pay my speeding tickets and shit.
Sending folks a picture of my drivers license seems like a bad idea. Just saying.
Actually, I just bought a home last year.... It takes 90 days to close on a home. Unless you are paying cash.I'm guessing it's been awhile since you've gotten a mortgage. It's not hard.
