Anyone ever see this for sale anywhere? I want one..
That thing looks awesome. .. Gonna look into the ones you linked.. thanks. Right now I'm using a Bobby pin cause my wire keeps popping out of the Chuck. And on my swivel i have a key ringLooks invented, like part of a key ring...
But here's a guy making useful coil-making gizmos.
I don't twist my own, so I don't know for sure - but the "core holder drill insert" sounds maybe like what you want??
There's also "spin clips" and wire holders....
Me either. .. been all over the place lookingLooks home made to me for sure. Couldn't find anything like it online

more solid rounded shank for gripping in the chuck.
Dude, not the keyring. The bit in the drill...As Train said it is just a split ring commonly used for keyrings.

A Google search pulls up lathe chucks...lolOhh that?
It is a sample holding chuck used for holding flat material or wires for tensile testing.

Should work just cut off the handle and stick the stub in a drill chuck. How about the tip of an exact knife

Was the first thing I thought of when I saw the pictureShould work just cut off the handle and stick the stub in a drill chuck.
GOOD idea.
The piece inside the chuck looks far from a ring....gotta be a custom made insertit's just a keyring

Chucks like that are available at tooling houses. Too replace the chuck on you drill. In most cases the chuck is removable on drills.oh alright... I thought it was a complete custom chuck but its just an insert that your existing chuck clamps down on... its just a split rod
Yep just a split brass rod with a couple of grooves and Orings to hold it together.oh alright... I thought it was a complete custom chuck but its just an insert that your existing chuck clamps down on... its just a split rod
ok took that idea and ordered a pair.It may not be as handy or clever as that chuck from classic clouds but you may be able to get a similar effect by using a mini collet chuck set. The inserts are brass, they can be found on amazon for like $5-10 and some of the collet inserts even though they're 4 jaw instead of 2 will close down tight. Ignore 2 of the slots and just use the ones that line up with either other, by the time it's clamped tight it shouldn't matter. Then it should fit into a standard drill chuck like a drill bit but I'm not sure of the outer diameter of the collet chuck.
