I think I need to change my Drop coils. It’s been over a month and one of them is getting Annihilated and the other isn’t so bad.
Those coils don't look bad at all in my humble opinion. I would clean and rewick them 1st.
I have a set of M.Terks N80 Alien coils in a Zeus RTA that I have been using for about 3 months now. I went about 6 weeks before cleaning and rewicking just last week.
If after cleaning and wicking the flavor is gone, then change the coils.
My Cleaning process.
1. Put Deck on to coil master.
2. Get very warm water running in the sink. A small stream, not dripping, not gushing.
3. Warm up coils. (Will smoke a lot, not to worry cooking off juice.)
4. Once coils reach a low orange color rinse coils off. (depending on how gunked up the coils are you may not get a real good glow the 1st or second time. Just watch the coils and do not glow them Red Hot! The Repeat this step once, maybe at most twice more before you can get them to glow light orange.
5. Once coils are looking better and not burning off residual vape juice, glow them light orange, not red hot.
6. Rinse off under water.
7. Brush lightly with a brass brush
8. Repeat step 5 - 7 2 to 3 times. You can do it more times if you wish but if you do do not brush any more than you have to
9. After final rinse, glow the coils light orange. Not Red Hot. You're just heating them up so they can dry a little.
10. Allow to cool a bit. Walking from kitchen or bathroom to work area should be enough
After that using the coilmaster, just as if they are brand new coils, I verify both coils are heating up from the inside/out, that there are no hot spots. May have to strum and/or squeeze the coils to get them heating evenly.
Then I allow to cool, rewick and off I go.
