First of all Hi. Second I would advise you went with a regular 3 core alien to start off with. Generally fraliens are easier to get to stay straight when fusing but once you're down into the MTL sizes I.E. 30g and smaller you would need to use .2 ribbon wire, which is finicky as fuck even if you know what you're doing with ribbon wire. You could pull off a .3 ribbon fralien but I don't think you would get many wraps in there and would have more chance of touching the deck depending on your fuse wire. I don't own the ares so you might have more room to play with than I can picture in my head. Also a regular high gauge fused Clapton could work well for you. It's a parallel build but the wrap wire makes the coil act slightly different. Just my opinions dude.

Thanks karmic. I value your opinion. I will take you advise into consideration. (I do love to think)

Nothing wrong with a good old straight wire build. They worked for many of us for many years!!
I want to try a fralien in an ares mtl rta. What wire would you recommend for this build? I gotta get on par with some of you on this forum. It may be difficult and working with some small ass wire. Recommendations please. Wanna try something other than a twisted or a parallel.

Start with claptons before you do anything else. Every build beyond straight wire requires the ability to clapton. Just take your current build and work on getting a good clean clapton on it. I recommend starting with 36g. It's not so fine that it feels overwhelming ... but also not to thick to cause a massive heat wave. If 36 is just to fine to start with you could do 34. But just know 34 or lower is going to be a pretty hot vape compared to what your used to. And don't hesitate to ask for help. We aren't here just to show off. Most of us enjoy lending a hand when we can!!

30g frames, and 2 or 3 ply 0.3 ribbon - 30g decore - and 38 or 40g alien wrap

Calling my go to vape shop for supplies. You are correct. Make a Clapton or two or three or 8 maybe the best way to go. A step to my goal. A little mini fralien. Or a stapled Clapton
We will see how it goes. I do know many people on this forum do make tiny wires. Hopefully they can chime in.

I love making baby coils. They are lots of fun to twist. My fav vape is a SSFC, of any kind. Currently running 3 ply .3, 32g frames, 40g stag/fuse in my RTA. But I wouldn't suggest that as a place to start. I was just trying to give some advice on somewhere to start before you jump into the deep end ;)

Sorry I didn't get round to this yesterday @Wtmke1. Here's a few pictures of alien (decore) setup.
(1) your bound cores, straightened for ease and decore.
(2) start to stretch your decore.
(3) once you think you're in the region measure against your cores.
(4) I needed a little more stretch there so stretch a little more and measure against your cores again. (notice how I've stretched it enough for the top of the wave to curve over what will be the top, when setup, and the bottom of the wave to curve around the intended bottom.)
(5) (this is optional but I believe it could help to understand how the decore flops into place.) I twisted the end of my decore around the end of my cores and began rotating my core wires the way the chuck would spin and keeping light pressure with my decore hand. You should have the wraps start to fall into place by themselves without much pressure. If you start getting a spine you haven't stretched enough but if you've stretched too much the pattern will fall out of the wrap.
Hope this helps dude

Do it! It's not hard at all if you can already knock out aliens like you can

Deleted my coiled alien tsuka pics off IG and my phone because you couldnt See anything lol, first two are aliens, last one was just twisted ribbon (0.3)

With tsukas I've only had luck with .2 ribbon. They almost vape as badly as enigmas so like most coil porn type builds I try them until I get to a degree of accuracy that I'm happy with and then I don't really pursue getting any better at them.

Those are very consistent, good looking aliens. I find higher gauges vape better for me. It's subjective but for aliens or fraliens 36-38 is my sweet spot.

oh oh oh ... can I hand model for my wire cutters?!?!? Now these bad boys are somethin else. Pretty sure they cost a bangin $1 and will flatten the ends of your wire anytime you want! I like to play a game with them. It's called 'let's see how hard it is to pull off the decore'!! :giggle::giggle:
