So you have wire now?
Yes inside diameterIt has not arrived yet. I meant: i am gonna rebuild that factory atomizer head for sure! gonna give it a try.
Sorry, what do you guys mean by: "id" (the inner diameter)?
This must be the coil head under discussion here I would think.

Those are Kanthal from the factory though.Yeah, it is. Beautiful, isnt it? LOL
Dude I will give you an older rda if you want.
Just because I believe everyone should at least try one. Also I assume you are rebuilding factory coils for financial reasons. You have wick and wire comming so you would be good to go. I have a Wotofo Lush Plus I can give you and probably an rdta as well. Older equipment but still very usable.LOL, why??
Yeah, i am trying to replicate what he did. He rebuilt a .4 factory atomizer head (like Bigrick said) . Today this guy told me that the behavior of the wire inside of the factory atomizer vs the coils that are used in RTA or RDA are completely different. He assured me that in order to rebuilt a .4 factory atomizer head he just used 2 strands of Stainless Steel (26 GAUGE), 5 wraps PARALLEL and finally he got 0.4 ohms.
Is that true? the behavior is different? Is he crazy or something like that?
This is why you use something like Steamengine or Vape Tool. You're obviously on the Internet so just use Steamengine it's not rocket scienceYeah, i think so. This is my first time vaping so i decided not to use RDA / RTA (for now). So, my friend is not a lier at all LOL.. basing on your words it is not impossible to get 0.4 ohms while rebuilding a factory atomizer head using 5 wraps PARALLEL, is it? What is the explanation? Why would you get 0.4 ohms using 2 strands of SS316L (5 wraps PARALLEL) on a factory atomizer head BUT not the same result on RDA / RTA?

The free version is very good as well and it is well you know free.I love vapetool. Been using the paid version since it first appeared in the Google play store
I know I have a couple wotofo rdas I'm not using. Didn't come with squonk pins so I'll never use them. A recurve and profile rda.Just because I believe everyone should at least try one. I also hate carrying a gas can back and forth to the corner gas station to put gas in my car. I mean, I can, and it won't hurt me, but why?I am a little scared now.. you guys really hate to rebuild factory atomizer heads.

Great recommendations! I always used kidney puncher. Anyone here ever try Vandy Vape SS316 wire? I was at a weeklong work event in Niagara falls last fall and my coil leg broke while dry burning, it was due anyway, but I forgot to pack wire. Found the closest vape shop and that's all they carried. It vaped fine, but my DNA mod would never recognize it as SS. When I got home I put the RDA on a yihi mod and same thing. The second set of coils I made from that spool picked up in temp control but nothing after that out of an entire spool. Made me wonder what they consider SS to be in China.Sandvik makes wire. If you are simply wrapping parallel, then you can buy from Kidney Puncher, Lighting Vapes, Master Of clouds, etc..
LV & KP are my basic sources. I've bought Coilology 10' lengths from FT because they are cheap as hell and a good way to test weird wires.
Several folks on VU wind custom coils and certainly can advise on what you'd need to buy to replicate their work, but chances are you will be talking of plain old wire. Get spools of 28 and 26 awg. 24 and 30awg are optional.
The rest of us have been wondering that for years.. These are the same folks that called Aluminum Steel, brass was copper, pot-metal is "Zinc Alloy", etc. I know they know better, but they seem to play the game well.Made me wonder what they consider SS to be in China.
I do not like Youde wire. Are you sure? I want to use 26 GAUGE wire (SS316L) in order to build a 0.4 ohm parallel coil (5 wraps). Am i wrong?
I do not like Youde wire.
with that said I use lightning vapes with no issues.
My fav coil is a parallel 3mm id 26 ga SS316l 10 wraps works out to around .35.
that is a 2 wire single coil not 2 coils. Although 2 single wire 10 wraps will give you about the same.
works for me at around 25-35 watts.
I have to wonder if wire sold for use in vaping ie with vape in it's name or specifically sold for use in vaping will be killed by the FDA.I use Lightning Vapes SS wire and some N80, and also some Geekvape N80. Probably will try Wotofo wire eventually.
Don't believe it will but one never truly knows. I do suspect availability/choices will go down and be more difficult to find. For that reason alone I went a bit crazy and bought a lot of my favorite gauges of Sandvik wire.I have to wonder if wire sold for use in vaping ie with vape in it's name or specifically sold for use in vaping will be killed by the FDA.
Per my interpretation of the Deeming regs they are covered under the Deeming regs as an ENDS product and subject to PMTA rules.
wire with no official affiliation to vaping would not be effected I think.

Yeah I've seen that also but I'm just a bit paranoid cause one never really knows for Government is fickle to say the least. That and I am on my way to moving out of the country and where I plan on ending up shipping is both very expensive and a bit unreliable. My impression is that anything marketed for use in vaping is a tobacco product under the Deeming regs.
Flavorings that are marketed for use in vaping, Wire, cotton, batteries, etc.
But not under the deeming regs is they have another use and are NOT marketed for use in vaping.
But I hope that I am wrong.
Might want to read this article from the FDA dated 6-11-2019
https://www.fda.gov/tobacco-product...her-electronic-nicotine-delivery-systems-ends
they do not specifically mention wires, but mention chipsets/displays, software, flavorings, some batteries, etc.
Luckily in Canada we don't have the FDA to deal with, but we do have our own regulatory system. We just recently saw a ban here in Ontario on labeling of eliquids that prohibits any images. It has to be a plain looking label with printing on it, nothing else.Yeah I've seen that also but I'm just a bit paranoid cause one never really knows for Government is fickle to say the least. Master of clouds Ebay store has a really good deal on 36g wire. I just got my second 10 spool bundle package. 2500 ft for less than $18..prob not as good as kidney puncher but not even half the price.Hey guys, how are you?
I want to make my own 0.4 ohm parallel coil (5 wraps) by using stainless steel 316L wire.
The problem is that i do not know which brand should i use in order to build it, i've searched a lot but i am a little confused. For example, i found this:
-Youde UD Stainless Steel SS316L
-Clapton Stainless Steel SS316L
Which one should i use? Any suggestions? What are your thoughts?
Thanks!
Just my thoughts on it, consider an rda or rta if your objective is to rebuild. Granted they were a lot tinier but I did something similar. My old ego pen coils (2.4 ohms) were burning out or the wicks were burning. They used the old silica braided wick and the coil was really fragile. With a good 20-30min and patience, one could be rewicked. I didn't want to waste money going through $3+ coils every other day. Subtank coils are larger and the wire a bit more stout so not as likely to break. However it will still be a pain in the ass. Not sure there's much benefit there. Monkeying around trying to make sure the connections are secure, the cotton's packed back in there. It will never be as pristine as a new coil mashed together from the factory.I am a little scared now.. you guys really hate to rebuild factory atomizer heads.
I did the same with my ego cig, rebuild then until i got tired of it and bought a rda. Since then no more headheacs trying to rebuild something not ment to be rebuildJust my thoughts on it, consider an rda or rta if your objective is to rebuild. That's how I ended up with rebuildables. Got tired of dicking with fiddly factory coil rebuilds. Why fight it when you can work on a pleasant deck with easy to access terminals and post screws? No trying to tuck the cotton around and wedge it into place evenly, just thread it through the coil. Rebuildables are designed with user accessibility in mind and will be far easier. It's not like you're avoiding winding coils or messing with wicking material rebuilding those subtank coils. I just think it's a lost cause. The few dollars you'd save not buying an rda or rta won't be worth the time wasted screwing with trying to overhaul a coil head not intended to service manually. Plus a couple of folks have offered to send you their rda's so you wouldn't even be out that.
You're welcome to fool with it if it's just a matter of principle at this point, just trying to save you some headaches. I learned the hard way trying it myself, the least I can do is try to save the next person the trouble. No sense in both having to be frustrated by it. lol.
If you are looking for preclaptoned wire, look here: Advanced Vape Supplyhttps://www.advancedvapesupply.com/
Not the cheapest, but it is clean and well made every time. It's all I use
