Hey Orange Tic Tac fans - I have a question.

Do you want the flavor of sucking the outer half of orange tic tacs?
or the inner 1/3 sour part after the outside is dissolved?
or what you'd taste if you crunched up a mouthful of them and got both together?

The inner and outer layers have some flavors in common, but different major supporting flavors.
I'm using all FA flavorings and getting good flavor matches to the various tic tac 'anatomy' :)
Good thing I bought the giant tub o' tacs, lol!
I'm more of an outer layer fan. I like the whole thing, but its that sweet candy shell that's my favorite. That part's not really sour.

Dunno what to call this. Took inspiration from HIC's maple walnut reference.

Vienna 3%
Vanilla Tahiti 1.5%
Vanilla Bourbon 1.5%
Irish cream 1.5%
Fresh Cream 1.5%
Walnut 1.5%
Maple Syrup 1%
Coconut .5%

Edit: thought of a name "Sweet Ol' Kitchen Sink"

Need some help. (Shoots sideways glance at HIC) I'm looking for a strong sweet tobacco flavor. Stand alone. Not dry not nutty. Straight tobacco like taking a pull on an unlit cigar or cig. Suggestions?

How about I do a recipe for Orange Tic Tac Part 1 (the outside) and a separate recipe for Part 2 (sour inside). Anyone who wants the flavor of a crunched-up mouthful can make both and combine them. Sound okay?
that would be cool. the wifey likes the crunched up taste

apple and white vinegar serve many functions..
to cut or add acid..
to smooth
to help with steeping
to give character
flavor is not noticeable ;)

note: this is not limited to just tobacco, either.

I know this is the FA thread, but for a real tobacco taste, this is probably what you want: USA Mix (not light), Tobacco, RY1, among others.
I've also heard that VZ has some pretty real tobaccos, but I've never tried them.
There's also Inw's DNB.

Until I got boyfriend to switch to FA tobacco, I was using ACV with Hangsen Turkish and a bit of EM. Now..... just Shade or Virginia, no additives. He's happy with 2% of either flavor. He's so easy to please. Wait, that sounds... ok, anyway. I've become a variety flavor vaper since DIY.

I was going to suggest Virginia. It's sweet, mellow, smooth. Smells and tastes like an unlit cigarette, right out of the pack. But, if you want the ashy component of it lit, definitely try DNB mixed with it. Love that stuff.

Add something sweet to FA Desert Ship, that stuff is authentic! Probably why I dislike it.

Placed small order see how it goes.
Cuban Supreme-FA
Mild Black-TFA
Ripe Banana-TFA
Tobacco-TFA
Turkish-TFA
hopefully this (ignore banana) will give me a better idea of what I'm looking for. Also think I may try the n.e.t. thing soon.

edit:all the TFA is because it comes in smaller (ie cheaper) bottles. Once I find the type I want I can try all the versions, at least that's the plan.

Camels were my jam too! Smelled like dark spicy raisins.

Mmmmm...I'd walk a mile for a camel, and now that I've quite smoking, I can do that. But...in all my years, I never smelled spicy raisins. I don't know what dark smells like. Where did you buy spicy raisin camels? Is that a European thing?

Nah, they just had a rich raisiny smell to me. Dark to me is reminiscent of deep rich smells - like raisins, or prunes, or leather, or christmas pudding. Fruitcake smell.

I prefer mild and dry, so maybe you want to stay away from flavors I use. Seriously, it's helpful to know what to avoid. Here's a recipe you probably would not like - mild, dry, woody, not very sweet: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-light-american-cigarette-replacement.2927/ Read the notes and be sure you don't do that, lol! (Cuban Supreme though - can be made into what you've described, or what I like - very versatile flavoring for tobacco-seekers who like a little vanilla)

Ohhh. I was thinking murder and mayhem. I like your version better, except for the prunes and fruitcake. I probably would have changed brands if camels smelled like your dark. I can't say I've ever had Christmas pudding. Is it different that Veteran's Day or Easter pudding? Isn't pudding, pudding? =)

Alright Gang, I got my order of FA Flavors just a few minutes ago and have only had time to mix one quickie.... Tutti Fruitii (juicy Fruit) and did it per HiC's suggestion of 2.5% (this is a 9% to 18% mix with TFA plus..sweetener.)
OK, you got me on this one. Its good. Its real good. It seems as if they threw in a little bit of Double Mint gum into the mix though.....but it works for me.

I was a bit dissapointed by one thing though and that is that they all came is plastic dropper bottles...... so when I need to use a flavor, I have to pry the top off with my finger and get flavor on me....not a big deal, but there you go. Im just not used to that being an old TFA guy......... well for TFA's smaller sizes up to 1 oz anyway. The Bulk flavors come in plastic 4oz.

Other than that, Im pretty stoked about trying some of your recipies and learning the FA line.

Thumbs up on this one.

rtsvapes.com sells their FA in 10ml glass vials. They fit perfectly standing upright in snack-size zip lock baggies.

Should be getting some FA tomorrow. Can't wait for the espresso. I used NA's Kona coffee last night, and the whole house is very malodorous.

Ya know all of those extra (empty) TFA vials you've got hanging around? Put new labels on them and fill them with the dropper bottles.

That's my plan so I can keep using all of those pretty racks I made up for the TFA flavors.

(If you don't want to use / keep those TFA vials, PM me.. I know a guy who will take 'em off your hands ;))

ETA: If you start measuring by weight, you won't have to pry the tops off... :)

How the hell are you measuring by weight ? Oh, I think I just figured that out....with a good electronic scale ? I have one that does Grams and OZ... Troy and avoir....may not work. Think I will stick with syringes and those tall glass measuring thingies for my large batches. I need some 1 ml syringes like now. Im not used to measuring such small amounts. Wonder who has them around here ?

How far are you from Grayson? Your welcome to try any of my 35 FA flavors I just got (5 more coming tomorrow) and mix up what you want.... just come on over. Dont know if you have tried these FA flavors yet........ I just mixed up HiC's Banana Milkshake....... OH WOW !! I may up the bannana a tad and see what happens. My wife just said "its perfect, leave it the Fuck alone" (Excuse the language but thats what she said while I was typing this)

Not getting much out of the Apricot stand alone at 3, 4 and 5%.. Its there, its just very subtle. I know you like apricot.

Anyway..... pushing forward here.. :)

Well, my vials went from the Wizard labs size to the 1/2 oz size, to the 1 oz size and now I have about 26 of the bulk 4 oz size....:D

We may be having a fire sale in a few weeks of many TFA flavors...;)

I transfer all the flavorings I use most into the little 3ml Pure Vapes bottles. Those I know are 0.5% per drop for 6mls - makes it really easy to make up samples! If I like it I make up flavoring bases (thanks, HIC!), and then I only have to use 1 syringe to make larger amounts.

Do any of you have and use FA Pineapple and can give me a % or? I got a bunch of favors today, this is one. It doesn't really smell too nice but I'll try it anyway.

I made reference in the late night thread but now I'm wondering. Is it OK to use canning jars for nic storage? I'm not sure about the metal lids.
