I had to try a lot harder back then. Now I run aliens full bore with no problem. I gotta make time for fun builds again, though. Remember how much we both hated ribbon back then? Now it's just like any other wire.

Ribbon is actually my favorite wire now...I actually run out of it faster then any other wire now and I wish I could find it cheaper and in bulk...
Coilsociety has it for $35/500ft but I wish I could get a 2lbs spool for less then $100 in .4x1...

I still have some issues with Aliens here and there but its definitely much easier and almost muscle memory for every step but some time there will be a spot where the alien wrap seem to just make a slight space no matter what...I just bought a Fishing Line Spooler so that should take the problems I have with my wrist out of the equation and give claptons and more a better wrap overall. Plus I can change how tight it goes on!

Some people do it with a fly fishing reel @raymo2u as it has an adjustable drag on the spool. For normal claptons/fused claptons etc I find my little paper clip jigs do a perfect job every time, I even bought a tight grip clamp to hold the button on the drill for me ha ha - guess I am lazy

Hi guys, new to this forum but looks like I found the perfect spot lol....I've been building coils for a while now and below are some recent ones....like to eventually try some of those incredible Hedgehog Mohawk things lol

Double corrugated Helix...26x2 N80 Twisted.... .4N80x2 .4KA1x3 36gN80....haven't coiled this one up yet but have a single corrugated that wraps 3.5 on a 2.5mm dual to 1.1ohm

Stapled Helix...26x2n80 twisted .4x4KA1 36gKA1 3.5 wraps on a 2.5mm around .09

Stitched Mohawk Alien 26x3KA1 32gN80 (sorry my camera broke cell kinda sucks grabbing a new one today)

Alien 3x26 316L 32g 316L little more spaced then I like but the SS was a little springy

26x3 KA1 26g n80 5,5 wraps on a 2mm comes out to around .14

got a bunch other like stapled staggerds, stitched aliens and interlocked etc....gonna work on taking some good shots, color shots etc with the borrowed camera.....would love some insight on crazy stuff like Enigma Hedgehog Staple Framed Stitched Interlock Mohawk Alien etc lol....hahah...hope I found a forum to call home guys

FOUND MY MACRO LENS!!!
After ordering 2 different Macro Lens because I was sick of waiting for the first to arrive I found my lens this morning...Its not a loss though as each lens is a different size and magnification strength.

Ive had a idea for a 30mm RDA that would use a DEAD post design but its vastly different from the Rafale X. Was going to send it to Augvape but they are closing there doors soon unfortunately...Thanks for the appreciation!

Im not a fan of the ProSpins...the SpinLT is the only version I like, the Prospin has a odd mounting method and you need to make a special hook to use it.

It is but you need to make the wire into a hook for it to clamp on to....its not a slip in and let go clamp like it looks like unfortunately

Damn, @raymo2u, youre killin it with these builds. Well I finally gave it a try and I actually got it the first time...not sure if I would go through the hassle of making it work again though!!

Just received a Mage RTA from CoilArt....Thought I should make something cool for it...These are some Evenly Spaced 3 x 28g/42g Aliens I made for it.

@CrazyChef Im posting this because you showed me the UD Coiler and I fell in love with that coiler and always wanted a longer post for it..out of about 10 coilers that I own (all different) none of the posts fit it that were slightly longer...I just picked up a Coil Master V4 Jig and its exactly what I was looking for and thought I should share!

I was in a group DM on IG and some of the builders in it challenged me to recreate a build that gregstephens2 did, he used just a single piece Ribbon per step on a Staggerton and made it 3 frames wide....Could you imagine taking one piece of Ribbon (.3R/.4R) and attaching it to a Cores top and bottom and fusing it without damaging the Ribbon??
Well I gave it a go, here are my results (only a double frame but its still as challenging)

After that I wanted to try a new Cat Track...2 Fused Claptons Groove Fused together and Flattened..

Got some new stuff in today to help with Photo Quality...I also bought Helicon to Focus Stack Images....still wiating on the 10x Macro Lens and Tripod though..

New Macro and Lightbox with Lighting(Check the new lens size!!!):

How versatile is the Merlin RTA? You can literally put anything in it.

Spherical coil made with fused clapton (24g SS316L cores & 30g SS316L wrap). 0.44 ohms and yes she vapes.

No edits other than crop and watermark.

I was testing to see how the 2x 24g ss430 would hold up under the strain of the 5loop of 32g kanthal, i wasn't expecting such a clean finished braid i thought the 32g was gonna pull the soft ss430 all over the place, it's quite a nice vape, the juice wants to hold up in the gaps even when you drip to the deck and not on the coil, ive seen other braids braided in the same way with two mains but they look different, for some reason ive managed to get the inner braid flat.

i wrapped it on a 2.5id and i think it was 0.13ohms.

High Gauge Half Corrugated SSFC

I wanted to try something like this out a while ago and it just fell on the back burner until today. I love thin staggering and fusing on these types of builds but without magnification it can be quite difficult to get it done and done right....but I went slow and made sure the strands lined up by using the light from leds and the reflection of that light on the strands, this is how I basically checked every wrap as the drill turned.
I made a second length but used a thicker fused to see how it would turn out, one is 44g fused and one is 42g fused.

SPECS:
16 x .4R/28N80/40KD/44KD (4 Wraps/3mm ID @ .06 Dual Coils/ .12 Single Coil)

First attempt at parallels with a 24g kanthal and a 26g ss turned out fairly nice vapor production is good too I was in a rush when doing it. When I went to change my cotton the wire broke on my triple twisted ss
