Just in case you all wanna chime in regarding this "owner" with his holocaustard juice. He sends this little tid-bit note out with the juice!!! I am HORRIFIED at how wrong this is!! What are your thoughts on this disgusting name and morally corrupt owner? This just creates negative publicity toward the vaping community as a whole imo, and the name should be changed! Nothing positive can be gained from this. Here is his FB page: https://www.facebook.com/doomsdaygourmet Sound off.

This is going to continue with so called "creative labeling."

Just fucking make labels that won't offend anyone or any groups PERIOD.

Well, with a name like Doomsday Gourmet, and considering the rest of their product line's names, it's clearly meant to be just part of an overall theme, with some real bleak gallows humor thrown in. The word holocaust can refer to a number of different horrifying death-related things (e.g., nuclear holocaust, etc.).

The line about being in a box with 30 other people breathing a strange gas though. That's getting darker than i'd think most people are comfortable with.

  1. Business ethics (also corporate ethics) is a form of applied ethics or professional ethics that examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that arise in a business environment. It applies to all aspects of business conduct and is relevant to the conduct of individuals and entire organizations.

I find the whole thought police approach more alarming. Tasteless? Absolutely IMO. Will he be getting any of my business? As a man once said: "Not no way, not no how." If enough people speak with their wallet there won't be a business to dislike. If on the other hand he has "a shit ton of fan boys" there probably will. Freedom's funny like that.

Alright, let's not be Vigilant Vaping Consumers and allow vaping businesses do as they please cause this is the Wild West after all right? It's not like the FDA/Federal Government has an eye on us.

Wild west? Nope just America last I checked. "Allow vaping businesses"? How exactly are you going to disallow it? You can certainly tell him what you think, although from his response he's not likely to care. Pretty much anything you do in fact will make him more visible. He's not breaking any laws - he's just offending you.

Unfortunately his wallet can't protect his business and reputation from the Federal Government and backlash from the MSM if this goes viral, once that happens...it won't be pretty. Do you want businesses like this representing the Vaping Community? Today, anyone can sue anyone for petty shit.

Our Vaping Community is on thin ice as is, these petty names might seem like nothing to you but TPTB will think otherwise.

You actually read my first post right? I'm still unclear on how you are going to disallow it. This "we won't allow it" thinking is very like that of those who think they are doing a good thing in banning vaping. Not those who are looking to redirect money into their pockets but those who honestly think they are in the right to do so. A very slippery slope.

As a Vigilant Consumer, all I have to do is call and report to Government Officials/Said Company and make my voice/opinion heard. Consumers do this everyday and this is why businesses do recalls, damage control.

I don't want Vaping Banned but some businesses only care about profits and sustainability even if it means being unethical while inadvertently hurting it's own Community.

Sadly too many assume that freedom does not bear the weight of responsibility. His "I did nothing wrong, dont like it? Naff off!" attitude was also shared by the likes of Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Pol Pot, Duvalier, Castro....et al.

Good. I thought I made it pretty clear I didn't care for it from the start. Didn't look from his initial response as if peer pressure would work. Not exactly sure how going viral keeps the FDA from seeing it. What government agency I wonder do you report poor taste to?

Are we seriously going to compare a tactless guy with this group of people? Seriously? I think the name is stupid as well, but holy shit, you people need to reign in the righteous indignation a little.

If you were not so eager to wave the finger, you would have read my post thoroughly and seen that I did not mention anyone's name. I was comparing a flaw in interpretation, to the who's who of despotic rulers. This can apply to hundreds of thousands in the US.

having you reply in a thread directed at a particular juice maker, I assumed there was a connection. I did not realize the two were completely removed from one another.

My link was inspired by the "Plausible Deniability" defense widely used at the Nuremberg Trials by pretty much everyone save for Albert Speer. At the Auschwitz Trials, there was a very common "I am not to blame because I was unaware" defense. It has come to pass that the term "Holocaust" is synonymous with the Nazi "Final Solution", and to use it in a marketing sense...no matter the implied or perceived context, is for the wealth of the civilised world...insensitive. An arrogant person responds with "so what", where a prudent and diplomatic individual might consider the reaction, and seek the path of least conflict. These of course are strictly my opinions on the matter. Most crimes against humanity are counter argued by the deranged implication that the offending party or parties were doing so "in the best interest".

In conclusion...I fail to see what other meaning "meet the end of the world in a box with 30 other people, breathing in a strange gas" could possibly imply.

again, i dislike the name as well; it's pretty distasteful. And again, I say that comparing a distasteful name to perpetrating mass genocide are not even remotely close to the same thing.
Here in America; whether you like it or not, we have something called freedom of speech. This right is put in place to protect the speech you and I find distasteful. Opinions that are popular don't need protection. Is this guy advocating killing millions of people? No. Is he outside with a gun taking down passersby that he dislikes? No. If he was, then he would be arrested and going to jail. The plausible deniability defense was used by people who actually murdered other people. And you cannot see the difference here?If this guy wants to throw his money down the toilet by placing something abhorrent on his juice bottle, then let him ruin his own business. I am not arrogant, I am not saying so what. What I am saying is this guys has just as much of a right to label his juice this way as I do to say 'no thanks, I'll buy my juice elsewhere'. Because what this guy is doing is despicable, but not unlawful in this country.

This is called getting free media exposure: shock people, wait for the shitstorm to pick up, then say "Oops sorry, we'll change it."
Like they say, bad publcitity is better than no publicity at all.

If you really want to piss off the author of that rather pathetic ad campaign, simply stop posting about it.

If you don't like it.. don't buy the juice and don't support the company..

he has the freedom to call his company or line of juice whatever he wants.. this country is so censor happy and gets 'offended' over every fucking thing that someone says even when its said in parody.. jesus christ.. it's not like hes actually killing jews .. people take things way too serious in a world where ridiculous and obscene things are said and shown online ALL THE TIME. But because its written on actual paper, its not acceptable? I mean I could find a video of a guy literally beheading someone right now and watch it.. but a plastic bottle with a holocaust pun is offensive? For fucks sake people..

Yea sure he has the freedom to call it whatever. But he's also got the freedom to be a major dick.
If this juice was over the top best ever made I wouldn't vape it if it was given to me for free.
The owner of Doomsday juice is a grade A number 1 loser.

Call him what you want, that's your opinion.. and your right to think that - the same right he has to call his juice whatever he wants and not give a shit what people think.. the fact that anyone is 'offended' by a clear play on words is really sad.. especially in today's world... better call for a boycott and a petition to be signed now and call for him to apologize for his actions! because that's what this society has come to in 2014..

Ahhh bullcrap on your petition. I'm not PC nor easily offended, but this crap about dying with 30 other people by gas in a box in the holocaust is over the top harsh. The Holocaust ain't nothing to make light about son.

hmm.. lets get the customers who buy the juice to weigh in.. if you don't want to receive a note from him - don't order - it's that simple.. if the holocaust wasn't anything to make light of, then why are there so many holocaust jokes? why are there so many hitler videos on youtube parodying him? Cmon now.. ANYTHING can be made fun of.. If a comedian made that same statement on stage it would be okay.. but because its a written note - it's not?

It's obviously supposed to be stirring a furor, that's guerrilla marketing/advertising for ya. If this thread hadn't been made, I'd never have heard of 'em. So, it's working...

FWIW, most people under 30-40 now were raised on the Internet with YT vids, torture porn "horror" movies, South Park, etc. Nothing shocks them..they think it's all funny and kewl. Horror is normal in the world of today.

Hell, compared to an episode of Brickleberry, this is nothing. ;-)

Working means increased sales, so this is a moot point, results TBD. Clicks don't necessarily translate to dollars. And companies are not celebrities, though some wannabe (AAPL); there is most definitely such a thing as bad publicity.

Companies pull offensive advertising (or wording, etc.) when negative response threatens negative action, not merely inaction. Negative action here could mean nothing more than a potential customer passing on any product associated with the brand, not just avoiding the item with the offensive description. (This would be my response if I were still a customer of pre-mixed juices.)

The example doesn't line up very well with transgressive comedy. Comedy needs transgression, for many, is transgression. It's a cultural value. This is commercial. If you don't buy they die. And I don't mean on stage.

Pretty sure you and I are NOT their intended market.

Ask a 20-somethng what they think? I bet they will say it's fucking funny...and would buy because it's "cool".

IMO, the best juices have nearly no advertising, stuff like AVE and NLV that just is what it is.

Personally, I couldn't give a crap about the latest fly-by-night vendor to hit FB. I DIY my juice. ;)

Anti-Semitism in our community is a truly unfortunate sign. There is already too much hate in this world, even if it is veiled in so-called "humour" (and I do get the Borat references here...and I do understand that Sasha is a Jew), to make light of a religion, belief, dogma is to display intolerance and a distinct lack of respect. There are those that would say I'm being overly sensitive, but I should only assume that a person that feels this way harbours some manner of insecurity within themselves. It takes strength to defend, and weakness to disparage. Am I preaching...of course, it is what I do! Am I holier than thou? I'd much rather be holier WITH thou.
