“E-cigarettes and hookah are now the most common tobacco products used among kids,” said Mr Brian King, a spokesman for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. About three-quarters of adult e-cigarette users also smoke regular cigarettes, he said."

More lies from the CDC.
It is pathetic when their own figures don't even reflect the utter bullshit lies they spew.

So actually more than 60% of vapers no longer smoke cigarettes which is the opposite of what these clowns are preaching.

All Dual use is a transitioning period in which a smoker slowly switches from smoking to vaping.
ANY reduction is cigarettes smoked per day is a public health win.

Notice the ultra low percentage of never smokers who vape?

0.4% of all current vapers are never smokers (they may have used chew or another form of tobacco just not smokers)

"But e-cigarette use has also exploded among teenagers, a development some anti-smoking groups warn could hook a new generation on nicotine."

Looks like that makes this part utter bullshit too - 5150

So there are more dual users than dedicated vapers...
Interestingly enough, a lot of people at work vaped, but many have now gone back to smoking. I heard a couple of them talking about a news report about e-liquids and ethyl alcohol, so they went back to smoking, figuring smoking is safer...

No, actually they lied because the blue in the graph is dual users and everything from there right are vape only users.
Their OWN report has revealed that they just lied to the public (Again) because more than 60% of all vapers vape exclusively with no smoking.

3.5% of all adults in America have quit smoking by switching to vaping as of right now.

So in less than 4 years we (Vapers/Vaping) have dropped the smoking rate more than the tobacco control mafia has in the last 2 decades

I think they are mad because we are making them look like complete asses - 5150

I've looked through most of the recent surveys and all I have seen show dual users to be the majority. I think the last one I saw was in summer though, so things may have changed...

Here it is-
Significantly more Americans are using electronic-cigarettes and other vaporizing devices than a year ago, but most of those consumers are also smoking conventional cigarettes, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.

BREAKING NEWS: CDC CLEARS THE AIR ON THE “GATEWAY” DEBATE! November 3rd 2015

New information coming out on E-Cigarettes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention could hamper the efforts of those in Washington who claim that e-cigarettes are leading adults to Traditional Tobacco.

According to DailyCaller.com “A new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has blown a major hole in the case against e-cigarettes. Many of the most vehement critics of e-cigarettes fear the devices could prove to be a gateway drug and will raise the risk of non-smoking vapers being lured into trying the real thing.

Critics also fear that we haven’t seen the long-term health effects of vaping and that regulators and lawmakers should take a stricter stance on taxing e-cigarettes and raising the age at which they can be bought. But according to a CDC report released on Monday, public health activists have little reason to fear a rising tide of new smokers in wake of the vaping revolution. The report is the first of its kind with the first estimates of e-cigarette use among U.S. adults from a nationally representative household survey.”

However this is not the first time that science has come out against the gateway argument. “It didn’t seem as though it really proved to be a gateway to anything” Theodore Wagener, Ph.D, Assistant Professor of General and Community Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, after surveying 1,300 college students.

The CDC’s study shows that out of all Adult Vapers, only 0.4% were nonsmokers. However some would say that the best news that came from this study was not the shadow of doubt it has cast on the Gateway argument, rather the fact that 55.4% of smokers who have quit tobacco all together since the study began did so using e-cigarettes and vapor products.

There is still the issue of misinformation and propaganda floating around, especially considering last week’s senate session on e-cigarettes where Democratic leadership spoke out against open vapor products and flavored e-liquid. The day will come when we can but those arguments down as well, but hopefully this latest report from the CDC will finally put the Gateway argument to bed.
