I'll try to keep this simple...There will be no proof coming for years, BUT, PG, VG, and flavoring are all liquid molecules. When you vaporize them the molecules don't change. Only their density changes. That's why you can inhale it instead of drink it. Now, when you inhale vapor it is going to displace some amount of air. Air is vital to humans and the higher quality the air, the better it is for you. The less the quality or amount of air you inhale the greater the potential for ill effects. This is basic chemistry and physiology. Granted the amount of pollutants is scant but when dealing with a person who has already suffered a cardio or pulmonary injury, vaping should not be encouraged. That said, I have recommended vaping to people who I know have no inclination to quit smoking and I might have looked the other way when a patient was vaping in the bathroom. It's harm reduction, not harmless.
I will keep mine as simple as possible too...
When you smoke, you are prone to a number of diseases high blood pressure as well as heart attacks or heart failures, and lets not forget lung cancer.
So smoking isn't good at all. I agree with everyone on this.
There for as an alternative and as a natural, vaping is for the better.
There are no studies and facts between high blood pressure and heart issues, at least for the most common public, here in the States. No proof it is bad or good at all.
Despite it all.. between the 2, I would much rather promote vaping for smoking.
Most vapers start out with high nic.. some stick with that high leveled nic, but most drop the nic levels.. some even manage to get to zero nic and either stay there or stop vaping all together.
Can you say that with smoking? No... I answered for you.
Have I said harmless, no I said and asked and no one can back anything up at all...
can you pinpoint any cases for sickness, etc for vaping after a heart attack? Any lawsuits? Declarations?
Would be good to read over those.. Thanks!
When you can actually show, then I will believe.. PG and VG are in asthma inhalers..
so... show me proof Cromwell. not just a study.
We all know how studies are rigged. again, thanks for your opinion.
This has been a long detailed search of mine too..
I even said to let the person vape, without nic.
Nicotine is damaging to both veins and heart.. its a given.
However, it is safer than lighting up a smoke, and with zero nicotine, a better way to calm the urges. This is an older study you popped up, 1997.. does not even discuss vaping.
What few studies I have found, either omit vaping, or do not lean to the zero nic approach.
VG and PG both are used in the medical world ads a way to transport needed medicines.
So again, without nic.. is it really harmful?
I can not, and you have not popped up anything stating it is harmful, as there is nothing out there, other than old studies and notes..
When something does come out.. be sure to post it here.
that is a lot of quotes of mine, still unanswered..
Nothing in life is perfect or guaranteed.
but as a "nurse" you should be all for harm reduction, for the better of a patient. That is in the oath you took.. Remember it well.
You do not have to "turn your back" but I will say nurses like you, cause people like me to avoid any type of treatment due to the way you are behaving, posting like it might kill me. What will kill me is still smoking and listening to a bunch of folks trying to say what is or isn't good for myself.
You stick to you.. I will tend to me.
I have a feeling you will not like this site, you are not here for the knowledge to understand and help your patients, by trying to tell me vaping is not safe. Go back to work, you need a new seminar or conference.. Education is good for a mind that refuses to acknowledge that for the betterment of a patient, learn everything you can without prejudice.
and Yes, I am a heart patient. Thank goodness I do not live in NY with their regs ideas etc..
