Many of you just getting into Coil Building start asking which wire to get first.......then you build one and use it...after a bit you want to know some better builds to do and which wires should I buy. What's the cheapest and what the best kind. Oh my. Size....what sizes should I buy of which kind. And then there's soooo many brands to chose from.........CALM DOWN....... I WANT EVERYONE THAT READS THIS TO POST WHAT -YOU THINK- is the most important things to have in your building kit. What sizes. What metal. What brands are best What sellers are the cheapest. Whatever -YOU AS A BUILDER- feel that is a must have when build amazing challenging coils. From beginner to expert. WHATS IN YOUT BUILDING KIT.

But if anyone has some kool wire that you would like to share then I would be happy to try a little out. Sending a foot of wire isn't much more than a few stamps. SO I GUESS I WILL ADD THAT TOO. IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE A NICE WIRE. OR EVEN A KOOL BUILD. WE COULD MAYBE DO SOME EXCHANGING OR SHARING TOO

Im very very new to coil building, I can wrap coils on my own but I did purchase a Kuro Concepts coil jig and for beginners this thing is a damn life saver!

Another thing no one has really mentioned that I feel is a must is ceramic tweezers.

A cordless drill (capable of turning both directions), for twisting wires and building Clapton coils. Swivels, for fused Clapton coils (makes it easier).

Slight hijack, but I can not use my corded tools for years and when I plug them in they work. Cordless tools, not so much. They're great for people that use them all the time, but for those of us that use them occasionally and want to buy something that we can have for decades and know it's always going to work, corded tools are a better option in my opinion. Just a thought.

it depends.... they are alot of real shite cordless tools and they are cheap,..... but real good cordless tools like Makita are expensive well made will take a beating , but they are expensive.....

Kanthal: 32g for Kanger Mini Protank atomizers, 24g for my dual RDA, double-strand twisted 28g for my RTA. I wish I had a single size to suggest, but I force myself to experiment constantly.
Cotton: I boil generic instead of buying organic.
Ekowool: I love the 2mm braided hollow for the Kanger atomizers. A pin fits inside, which makes wrapping so much easier. Second piece as a flavor wick.

Tools
***Mini screwdriver kit. See BoomStick's pic above.
Precision multi-driver set. For the hex and torx bits.
Nail clippers: small and large

***Tweezers: regular, needle nose and ceramic

Im very very new to coil building, I can wrap coils on my own but I did purchase a Kuro Concepts coil jig and for beginners this thing is a damn life saver!

I learned the old-school hand-wrapping way and I still love my coil master for standard coils. No shame in using those pen coilers, man! They make a routine building task easier and consistently produce clean coils. Even for hand wrapping, as is often necessary for parallels and claptons, the base is perfect for securing the wire while you wrap.

Kanthal: 32g for Kanger Mini Protank atomizers, 24g for my dual RDA, double-strand twisted 28g for my RTA. I wish I had a single size to suggest, but I force myself to experiment constantly.
Cotton: I boil generic instead of buying organic.
Ekowool: I love the 2mm braided hollow for the Kanger atomizers. A pin fits inside, which makes wrapping so much easier. Second piece as a flavor wick.

New addition: Fiskars softouch micro-tip scissors. Cuts silica wick/ekowool really well. I'll keep the toenail clipper handy though... good for flush-cutting.

Kanthal: 24g and 26g for Dual RDA/RTA's, 28g if you really want to try building Twisted and other coil types.
Cotton: Buy Organic, it's cheap on Amazon, look for Labo Or Koh Gen Do, you won't regret it.
Boiling cotton balls does not work, still tastes like ass.
I used to recommend Rayon (CelluCotton), but trust me, once it has been pointed out that it tastes like ass too, you won't want that either.
You will remember what it tastes like and it's not good.

Coil Master v3 - Yes it is easy enough to hand wrap coils, but this tool does make it even easier
and less tweaking at the end. I have built coils for a very long time by hand, and this is my go to now.

Drill Cordless or not. Cheap will work. for making Twisted and Clapton wires, which you might end up liking.

Tape measure: (not essential) small, with millimeter measurements, but Cheap Digital Caliper works too.
Torch: (not essential) but can come in useful for some coil builds
