Can't stand people on government assistance

This has always bothered me and probably will. I hate the fact that people can take advantage of this government and be ok with it. Have no shame in it. I'm a middle aged male who works at a good job, recently within past yr bought a house and does what I gotta do to pay my bills. I have always had a job, paid my bills and then partied when I could when I was younger. Now I have kids, wife and house. That are important to me. Well when I bought my house I was told oh that's great investment you will get more than usual back on ur taxes. It's great your homeowner etc. I tell u what shit ain't easy but it's mine. Did my taxes and got way less than expected. Yet I know grown ass people who don't work or work 10hrs a week, live off my tax money and have zero shame in it. All people on government assistance who CAN work do so. Having sex and not wearing a rubber is not a job. Just cuz u have kids, doesn't mean u can't work. Having kids isn't a job. Doin what u gotta do to take care of them and raise them properly is a job. You buy cars, atvs, motorcycles and big screen tvs but yet I'm the one with class and dignity and do the right thing. Yet the fuckers live like pigs but got the latest Jordan's and video game systems. But I'm the one working my ass off to pay my mortgage and support my family and oh support your lazy asses. I really wish the government would see this bs and put an end to it. Like most I take pride and do the right thing. I refuse to take pride in living off of anyone.

Don't let it get to you. Atleast you can hold your head up high and be proud of all that you accomplished. The people on government assistance are barely getting by and have nothing but a few things they can get once in a blue moon.

People take advantage of it everywhere. When I worked at a run down grocery store in a small town on the outskirts of Philedelphia, I often saw people drive in with nice cars only to pay with food stamps and try to use bad coupons. Quite a few of them had real snobby attitudes too.

My local walmart had signs on various products a while back saying they were being removed from WIC purchases.
Now they have signs hanging at the entrances saying they will be no longer accepting WIC at all starting sometime this year.
No clue what's going on with that, haven't seen anything online about the chain not accepting it anymore.
But hey, if the retail places start making it hard for the lazy people, maybe they will try to actually get a job.

And, speaking about laziness, how about people who want to get paid an exorbitant amount for an easy job?
McDonalds workers demanding $17 an hour anybody? lol

This is a subject I can/have rant(ed) on for ages. I worked as a cashier in a grocery store a few years ago, busted my ass for minimum wage. You'd get these young couples coming in there with 4-5 kids, load up a couple buggies or more so high they practically had to throw a kid on top of them to keep it all from falling off. Then they'd hand me the food stamp card to pay for $400+ worth of chips, candy, soda, and frozen fast food garbage, and still have a balance left on the card of $300-$400. We kept a sign in the front window that read "Stock boy needed-Apply within", and "Cashiers needed-Apply within." You think any of them ever asked for an application? Aw, hell no.... And the little old people would come in there with the same card with ridiculous balances of $20 and $30. That was a month's worth of food for them. I watched a little woman who had to be in her 80's toddle into that store, took her ten minutes to get from the car to the door - and she handed me her EBT card and asked me to check her balance to see if her food stamps had come in. I ran it through the machine and told her it didn't look like it, there was only $19 on the card. She got all excited and said "Oh, they came, they came!" I wanted to cry, I really did. We take better care of our lazy alcoholics and dope heads than we do our senior citizens and middle class laborers. How is this right?? And don't be fooled, I've seen first hand, benefits recipients selling the use of their EBT cards for cash for beer and dope. Their kids go hungry, but selling that card gets them anything else they think they need. Yeah, welcome to 'murrica. In England, if it's determined you can work doing anything, you have to. No free ride anymore.

I have 4 kids a beautiful wife and an average house. I paid off my mortgage about 2 years ago. I stand inline at the grocery store and watch the person infront of me buy steaks with food stamps. I don't get jealous. Hard as it may be i know when my kids get to college i can pay for it or atleast help. My dad worked his way to where he is and i followed along. I started as a mechanic at a bowling alley. Worked through school with a pregnant wife and a 9 year old. The first two years i was at my current place of employment i did my best and management saw it and gave me significant raises. People on welfare can't say that the only raise they get is maybe every few years a cost of living increase. Hold your head high and remember you worked for everything even the piddly tax refund. You did all this because that was your dream. You can sleep well at night knowing how you got here.

Have a great vape!!

What burns my ass even more is corporation that get corporate welafare to move their bussnieess overseas and leave american citizens with jobs at Mc Donalds....On a visceral level the people know that they and their country is on sale to whatever multinational gang of pirates that can afford a senator...this has made them aware and cynical about the idea of being"honest" in a country where their jobs are sent overseas and what few jobs are left are given to illegal aliens...without the chance for upward moblity and faced with the prospect of living for the rest of their lives on minimum wage alongside illegal aliens it is now wonder that people say fuck it ...the goverment is screwing me, my boss is hiring illegals...why should I be the last honest man...in other words we have imported a third world mentality into the US where the people are nothing moire than hosts for parasites. Everybody is walking over bodies to get to the top of the shit heap, and where the only people being asked to be honest and honorable are the people that are being fucked.....

I'm not sure that I blame the people that take advantage as much as I blame a government that allows it, or makes it more desirable for people to do it. This is true for me on the personal level(the ebt card holder) and corporate level.

The people in government are by far the biggest parasites of our country. Sure, they make many individuals and nearly all corporations parasitic but this is payment for allowing the ruling class to have their own parasitic lips sucking the blood of the nation. Welfare is a "hand me down" for the poor and corps. A pay off.

welfare and all forms of public assistance is nothing more than the goverment handing out crumbs to the citizenery to keep them from rising up and having a revolution....because if the citizenery realize that true capitalisim is dead and that the wealth of the nation is being handed out to a small oligarchy, and goverment laws and regulations are not to protect us but are there to protect the elite from honest competition, if the citizenery realize the game is rigged then they will pull the game down....when they realize our trade policy with China has more to do with making sure Apple stays rich than it does with the plight of the country as a whole or that the flood of illegal aliens has more to do with the Chamber of Commerce than it does with the intrests of the workers...Mexico for example uses the United States as their national welfare system...without the goverment of the U.S. conspiring to violate american law and the will of the citizens and bring a flood of illegal aliens, without that , the people of Mexico would have no other shoice but to rise up and have a revolution,Mexico has the largest number of billionaries on the planet and they don't want to share the resources of Mexico with the people.Or have their factories, mines, and oil wells handed over to....Commadante Zoro..the peoples revolutionary minister of finance....and since the uber rich of both countries don't want to have their wealth threatened.... they help each other to keep the citizens out of the game.
Hell the uber rich would rather see the countries turn communist long before they would like to see them true capitalist societies...collectivist economies are far easier to gain control over and corrupt....

The illegal aliens of Mexico aren't coming here to survive...they can do that easily in Mexico...they are coming for upward mobility...to get money to buy houses, land, bussinesses...back in Mexico that is why the remitance payments are so high....but there upward mobility is helping to destroy the chance for upward mobility for American workers.

I bought a house this last year too.
I work a well paying full time job.
I own a business, as well.
How would you like to CUT a check to Uncle Scam, and NOT even get a refund? Shit sucks!

I HATE the level of welfare of this country. 50% plus of the citizens are getting handouts. Yes, 50 fucking percent. That's MY hard earned money, supporting the very FEW who need it, and a whole bunch of worthless fucks that could starve to death, for all a give a shit.

Government CREATED the problem, then created the "solution" which always makes more problems, so they can create more solutions. This is 100% the fault of worthless fucking politicians.

people do drugs because they are unhappy....sure without a doubt....the so called "great society hand outs" of the 1960's institutionalized welfare families...we have families where no one has held a job in 3 generations.....but the aim the goverment was trying to achivee was to institutionalize poverty..to acclimate people to the idea of being poor their whole lives, to breed out of them the idea of upward mobility through their own efforts. to get them used to the idea of being SLAVES.

Not true. When given the choice between working hard to have something, and getting something for little effort, most people choose little effort.

Those that want a good paying job, a house, or owing their own business, already are or are working on it.

The OPPERTUNITY to have better, is there. It never went away. The "lazy option" has just become a easy to get option.

The truth is, the DRIVE to work hard for something, has gone from most people. Half the country is content with handouts. Most of the country is voting for the politician that will give them more handouts.
You have to see shit for what it is. The true idea of "conservatism" is dying. Those that value it, are getting older and dying off. Schools have indoctrinated kids, and now they get to reap the benefits of that. Witness the election of 2016. No one cares about the constitution or conservatism. Socialists and communists are openly telling people what they are, and people are excited to vote for this shit. The election has turned into some "reality" TV show, not a bid for President.

Obama allowed so many undeserving people on food stamps that the allotment per person went waaaay down. From like $100 plus per month to like $25 per month. I'm sure the people who actually need food stamps to survive aren't liking it either.

The only government programs I was ever on were food stamps and unemployment, and Ill say this, if the people on all kinds of welfare, housing assistance, and all that stuff can do it and make it work, then fuck it, more power to them. Theres so much paperwork and hoop jumping to get on those programs, at least the ones that REALLY help, that it blew my mind when I was trying to get on them. I couldnt believe the people sitting around the welfare office knew the ins and outs and how to do all the paper work and all that shit and I was sitting there totally dumbfounded. Getting on all those programs is a job lol.

But Ive got a friend that is on welfare/food stamps/housing assistance/etc. We met at a job site and became friends and worked a couple jobs together after. His thing is he doesnt like to have a job unless its a really good paying one that is particularly easy, and even then, hes pretty meh about it. Its because when he has a job he has to pay bills and pay rent and his food stamps get cut down. When he doesnt work his rent is free, his essential bills are covered, he gets food stamps, and he gets cash assistance. Pretty wild, but I always thought, if you can figure out how to get it and hold it, and can get away with it that long, then screw it, more power to you.

My sister is another one that takes advantage, only not to that exent. On paper, her life looks bad. It looks like she NEEDS the help. A single mother working a fulltime job and going to school full time. It sounds like one of those heartbreaking, give her money stories. The reality is she rarely shows up to work and cant hold a job and she almost never goes to school either, and my mother and other sister help a lot with the kid. She has a gravy life, doing whatever she wants while she gets food stamps, college funds, wic assistence, and crazy tax breaks.

She worked for 3 months last year total, made shit, and still got around $6,000 back in refund. I worked my ass off all year and only got $400. Then she got another $5,000 at the same time for school. She gets over $10,000 cash for being a lazy shit head mother and eventual college drop out. But whatever, shes doing what she can to get hers.

/pointless offtopic rant

No one is forcing people to take handouts. Stop acting like a fucking conspiracy theory weenie.
There is no doubt in my mind, that there are those that manipulate things to their advantage.
Stop acting like the leeches are innocents.

If you have shit on your hands, you can't keep blaming the "other guy". No one was forced at gunpoint to get food stamps, free healthcare, or free housing. No one is forced to claim EIC on their taxes either. People WILLINGLY flock to it.

You may "feel" it's too hard to start a business today, but I did it. Many others do the same every day. Keep telling yourself that you just can't and you never will.

There is so much we can do...we could call for a general strike...we could call for the people to stop working, to stop buying anything from China for just one week..it would bring the corporations down...we could boycott facebook...Apple..all the multinationals GE...ect. the multinationals run on very small profit marins ther profit is big , but the margin is slender anything that upsets the profit margin is a vital wound....All of our ancestors suffered much more and sacrficed much more for the chance that we could live as free men.

It is laziness.
If the people wanted to work hard to get the stuff, then they actually would do that.

They would make an effort to get a job, even if it only pays min wage, while actively searching for a better job.

Making an effort meaning visiting or calling *every* business that you can possibly go to within reason and seeing if they are hiring.
Have a car? You can inquire with *every* business within x miles of your house, easily up to 50 miles.
Don't have a car but have a bus/train available? Then you can inquire with every business within walking distance of anywhere on the route, and even connecting routes.

If unsuccessful, one who is making an effort would try various times of the year.
If successfully getting applications in, one who is really making an effort would then wait a week and call the business to check on the status of said application and possibly even ask if they could come in for an interview.

Even if managing to get a min wage job doing this, somebody who is making an effort would keep looking for something else to open up.
Even if nothing better does open up, one would continuously work that min wage job as hard as they could to stand out as a good employee and get raises. Having the mentality of "don't bust your ass for min wage" isn't a sign of a good employee. It is a sign of laziness and I have seen many people with that opinion. Making an effort is going above and beyond to do the best you possibly can no matter what the pay is.

Not having higher education isn't an excuse either. A vast majority of jobs out there don't require higher education. Warehouses, factories, etc. you know, those jobs that actually require physical labor. Most places offer tuition reimbersment as well. Work at a place for a while and have *them* pay for your schooling. So not having higher education is no excuse, you can get it with a bit of effort.

Can't afford to live off what your making? That is nobodies fault but your own.
It is your fault you have so many bills and your fault your unemployeed or have a crappy job if you don't make an effort.

It has nothing to do with what is and isn't available, it is pure laziness.

Idk bout all that. It all sounds easy to say but people won't actually do it. I refuse to use Facebook. Damn near everything is made in China, Taiwan, etc. I agree our ancestors suffered thru much more but also our ancestors whether it be African American or women didn't have the opportunities we have today. Be it own ur own business or own ur own house or have a black president. Just examples the playing field was never level from the get go.

It is laziness.
If the people wanted to work hard to get the stuff, then they actually would do that.

They would make an effort to get a job, even if it only pays min wage, while actively searching for a better job.

They had more opputunity.....back in the 1960's just before the institutilizing of the huge welfare systems under the "Great Society" the single largest group of Americans that were upwardly moble was the african american community, they were the fastest growing upwardly moblle group, but then Ted Kennedy pushed for a more open immigration policiy and the rise of upward mobility in the black community started to plummet.

Oh. So you no longer deal in horses huh. I didn't know Obummer closed down your horse business.

No, I no longer deal in horses. Now it's just a hobby.

Hay was $70 a ton when horses was my business. Now it's $210 a ton. Horse prices have dropped since they outlawed horse slaughter and people have to find homes for any horse that can't make their way. People used to like to compete in Racing, Showing, Rodeo and a host of others but the cost is now prohibitive. People can't afford it. You can't sell horses to nobody and make a living. You can't train horses for nobody and make a living. The working folks can't afford a horse hobby. If I was not experienced and bought in already, I could not afford a horse hobby.

I never said it wasn't.

Your contention is that the "little people" don't have blame in the situation.

I say they do. And maybe moreso than then puppet masters, because they WANT those hand outs. People do NOT unite for a "cause". Most ALL people are out for themselves and whatever they can get for themselves. Consequences be damned.

Everybody likes to bitch, no one will sacrifice. Stop paying taxes and it all ends. When the government can't rob the population it all ends.

No, I agree after 3 generations of these goverment policies you're right the people not only want it they feel entitled to it...but I guess my point is they would be easily convinced to abandon it if they saw a realistic path to upward mobility.

No offense, but what you say is making horse hobbies expensive, is commodity prices. Government has no reigns on hay prices, it's driven by the market.
I know quite a bit about it, as I used to manage a feedyard.

The opportunity to have horses, race them, or whatever you like is still there. It just COSTS more than people want to spend. That's an income issue.
