I haven't had an issue but want to share this...
I have a SMPL mod where the 510 pin from the RDA RTA RBA or Clearomizer makes direct contact with the battery. I also have other mods with Hybrid top caps, in which the 510 also makes direct contact with the battery.
I understand this now. When I inspect an older clearomizer, I see that the 510 center pin does not protrude from the 510. If I were to use this in the SMPL, the battery would press against the 510 both negative and positive, and there would be a sparking short.
So...what I know: IF I use a mod where the battery presses directly against the 510, I must be certain that the center Positive pin protrudes from its surrounding Negative sleeve!!
