dirty contacts

just cleaned all the contacts on my 4s lipo and the battery seems to be lasting much longer. is there any truth to this that dirty contacts will kill a battery faster?

Personally I think there is some truth to it, although I don't have any empirical data to support it. Cleaning the contacts on my phone battery, laptop batteries, and any other rechargeable always seems to help it live longer overall. I firmly believe that battery care is critical for any device.

They would have to be a total disaster to kill the battery. But dirty battery contacts will affect both the charging and the discharging characteristics. The oxidation will add resistance to the overall circuit.
