I think taking the Griffin 25 as a base and implementing the replaceable open RBA heads is a wonderful idea.
And besides a staple staggered fused clapton replaceable head is not something you see every day.

And btw it's top airflow and standard, they are both top fill.

15 types of replaceable coil decks will be available for the Eagle

Looks like the coil wires are held down with flathead screws.

Could be wrong but it looks like there are flat head screws in those posts, meaning they are all pre-coiled RBA heads.

Geekvape already have clapton and twisted clapton 15ft coil rolls available, so maybe now they will add those more advanced claptons to the list, cos tbh just the though of making 15ft of fused staggered on my own makes me dizzy.

Putting those two product posts together made me dizzy!.

You're correct nightshard. Flathead screws.

When Kanger made the Dripbox they were faced with a problem of how to make their noob users use an RDA, so the solution was open pre-coiled RBA heads.
Geekvape just took the idea and improved it.
Well actually Steamcrave did it before Kanger with the Aromamizer V1 replaceable heads, but I have a feeling Geek took the idea from Kanger.

That's what I assumed, but was uncertain until you mentioned the flathead screws
in the bases that I initially overlooked while being post happy. Basically, an option
for those who want to install they're own coils and a complete assembly for those
who are interested in easy/simple coil swaps.

so this is a griffin with out the velocity deck

We'll have to wait until a reviewer takes one apart to find out.

and you can have multiple dual or single coil decks?????

Geekvape product page shows 15 pre-built decks that you will
be able to purchase. Plug and play for those who choose not
to DIY.

and said decks come with preinstalled coils?????

Pre-installed coils and cotton it looks like on the replacements.

Have a look:

this tank would be awesome if one of those decks was a velocity deck.

Well that's what the Griffin is for.

The Eagle on the other hand is for people that want nice builds without actually building them.

yeah i get that they are trying to sell decks over and over again to people. But if this had a velocity deck as an option, I would buy it and one of teh single coil decks as well. Then have the option of having a true single coil deck or a true dual coil velocity deck,

I know the griffin 25 has that plug to convert it to single coil, but a true single coil deck as an option for the griffin 25 and 22 would be nice

I think that since the Eagle and Griffin are aimed at different parts of the market, making the Eagle more like the Griffin will hinder the sales of the Griffin.

Personally I would have preferred that they sell a Griffin conversion kit that would allow it to use those pre-built coils instead of the Velocity style deck (but that would hinder the sales of the Eagle).

15 types of replaceable coil decks will be available for the Eagle

No idea as to who or when the heads/coils will be available, but this
is what the packaging will look like.

And a couple more

Tightening from the top looks a hell of a lot easier than dealing with side screws.

I'm both lazy and I have a wife who isn't a huge fan of how much time I already spend changing coils and refilling tanks, so building isn't really a great option for me. Due to those facts, this tank looks very interesting to me. I look forward to hearing some personal reviews. If they're positive, I think I might give this tank a try just because of the plethora of coils they're selling that are usually limited to builders. A lot of these look like coil porn I've drooled over many times here on VU. It would be great to give some of them a try without having to learn how to build them AND put up with sh!t from the wife about how much time I'm spending away from the family while I do so.

So, has anybody picked one of these up and given the more exotic coils a try yet?

Just got this tank. First time using something of this caliber. Started on things like the protank 3 mini, but I've been using isubs for about a year now.
Also picked up the staple staggered fused clapton for this. It's the first one I decided to try and I'm in love with this beast. Reads .15 and vaping at 60 watts with max VG on a Cool Fire 100 TC, airflow top and bottom wide open.

Any issues with with coils being overstuffed with cotton or anything else?.

I've used the staggered staple clapton as well as the two that came with it, dual Clapton and single stainless steel. All of them vaped wonderfully except I didn't like the taste of the stainless steel. I couldn't rewick the staple staggered Clapton, but I have one more from that two pack that I haven't even used yet. The ohms kept jumping around and it also kept saying check atomizer. It worked fine before I took out the original cotton and dry burned it. I did rewick the dual coil and I'm very happy with it.

Have you checked that your coil isn't loose?

So, from those of you who have used a few, which coil you've put through its paces produces the best flavor?

Everyone's tastes are different.

I find that the single stainless coils have better flavor and work well in TC mode.

Also ordered these extra coils:

eagle coils.jpg

HBC-S05 - Closed Clapton 0.15ohm (0.17ohm reading on RX200)
http://www.heavengifts.com/GeekVape-Eagle-Replacement-HBC-S05-S06-S09.html

HBC-S06 - Flat Clapton (0.16ohm reading on RX200)
http://www.heavengifts.com/GeekVape-Eagle-Replacement-HBC-S06.html

Taste was similar to that of the included HBC-S03 - SSL Staggered Fused Clapton coil although I'd
give a slight edge to the HBC-S06 - Flat Clapton. Can't explain why, maybe the larger wire coverage.
Someone else might find a small or large difference between them.

No issues at all rewicking either of the included coils. I should point out that I cut the my cotton strips
a little longer than required, do a soft roll-up and twist one of the ends to make it easy to insert the wick
and pull it through the coils.

directvapor.com has 6 or 7 coil heads for sale for $7.50. That's the cheapest I've seen them and it's in the US. Just thought I'd pass along the info.

Does these coilheads consume a lot of juice compared to a regular subohm tank with ceramic coils, Vaporesso Target Tank?

The Eagle tank coils especially the dual coils will consume more than a standard sub-ohm tank.

I know this an old thread but just got this and my thoughts: There is obviously a reason this thread is but one page!

This could have easily been very advanced. For whatever reason I do not know why. I want a quad Clapton NI200 deck! The thing is lacking even a Dual NI200 deck and having flat head screws, well screw this. No pun intended. To get what I want you will still need to build. In that case I would much prefer Two sets of Hex screws on the side. Meanwhile I still feel the Crown II with the Rafale NI200 coils which actually read .07 usually new.is vastly superior. I do not know why everyone is moving away from NI200? I know there are some health concerns but they are unproven. Just speculation. I find the taste and clouds much better. My setup will blow away any of these decks IMO and yes I just got this Damn thing. Plus it does not fit my custom Chuffs or 510 drip tips. It is non standard. So to me this is a total fail. The SS and KA are fizzing compared to the Crown II with the Rafale NI200 coils. A big part of it is under 1 Ohm. If they did A Quad NI200 Clapton like I can have built at under 1 Ohm it would be the new game in town. Right now that can only be built. Meanwhile the Crown setup to me is better than any of these decks. With Top Slotted screws all this is, is really just another Subtank. It is not an RDA. This is not meant to be rebuilt but it can be of course. I wouldn't see why though. They just have a novel new way of selling coils that's all. This is not better than the TFV8 or Crown/II. You are still buying coils. Having it setup like an RDA is not necessarily better to me. I think this may be a great idea in the future but the first version is a fail IMO. YMMV. If you love this great.

Edit: Damn I thought someone would stand by this and flame me. Like I said has to be a reason there is only One page. Plus I just saw bad reviews by two guys who are actually honest. I guess this was not ready for prime time. If you really want this exotic shit you do not want it built by a machine in China! You do, instead want to build it yourself! If you can't, like myself well then fucking be happy with a Clearo! I figured this was some shit but seriously it blows. Seeing as you cannot even get the Cotton through the exotic SS ones they are selling Damn expensive coils in Two packs. Not to mention they kind of suck. I really thought this would be the shit but I gues this needs a few more generations to mature.

Well, okay. I found out this was a big fail. Dratz.

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time of it, but I'm glad I never broke down and picked one of these up! I was really tempted by all the exotic coil builds and, like yourself, I have neither the skill to make my own nor the time to learn how. I'll be sticking with the Crown and D1 for the foreseeable future.

I thought no one would even reply. I figure anyone has this either gave up or it worked for them. I really think this is the future. At least I hope so. I think it needs a few versions to get it right. Perhaps GeekVape never will but a bigger company like Uwell or kanger might.

Juice, How do you compare the D! to the Crown II? I own most of the newer tanks and the Crown II is by far my favorite. That is just personal feeling though. Herakles Plus, TFV8 Etc. are also very good. I wanted a D1 but was concerned about capacity. If you fit the Crown II with an O-ring as it really should have you can fill it to about 5.5ML then. Is the D1 a better vape in your opinion? That is the only other route I could see myself going right now. Also, for your sake glad you passed on the Eagle. Dry hits,Leaks like mad,Almost impossible to Rewick. Plus A Doctor proved dry burning coils is dangerous to your health. This was just an epic fail. I am really interested in the D!. Would you say it is overall better than the Crown II? Thank you

Edit: Actually I totally forgot I have the D! already! I remember not being impressed due to the juice capacity and how hard it is to unscrew the coils. I will revisit it for myself.
