Help with CLR rebuilds-working fine but not sure if correct.

Hi people.

I bought a pack of 0.5Ohm CLR heads for rebuilding, and have rebuilt one to use NI200 and it works fine, but I am not sure its 100% correct.

I rebuilt my first CLR head last night, it works but not sure if its correct. I used 28 G NI200 so its quite low resistance, I will rebuild later, but I put the positive THROUGH the middle of the rubber bit, and the negative on the outside of the rubber. I snipped them close as possible, and it works fine. The thing it, is the positive wire meant to go through on of the holes on the metal connection you install after, or hang loose? As mine is hanging loose, and making a direct connection to the pin, eliminating the metal contact portion. Should I be threadting my rebuilt coil THROUGH the hole in the side of the metal, so it then makes the whole bottom conductive, or stick to what I am doing?

Thanks everyone, Conan.
