IPV3 510 connector questions

I was wondering if anybody knows what the 510 metal connector threads are made from..I don't think they're aluminum..Also was wondering how this connector is secured to the box..I figure its got to be threaded but again I'm not fond of aluminum threads..if anybody knows for sure please enlighten me..thx

I think it might be press fitted but I am not sure.

I think it must be pressed too because I am searching for how to reconnect my 510 connector it will not stay in my box now If anyone can help me that would be great!
