What is the issue with the doors? Mine has been fine, though it doesn't close flush - it works.

The issue with the doors is the piece that latches to the mod. The thing that pushes in and secures the door was made of a plastic like material and would snap off if you didnt push the button on the door in when closing the door. They have since fixed the issue and now use metal for that piece.

I'm not - it's just that folks often discriminate against us Alaskans, Hawaiians, Puerto Ricans, etc not realizing it is often just as cheap as mailing to us as it is across the street from your house

This is true. I bought something from a member in Hawaii a long time ago... shipping was like $2.50.

I hear ya. I've never understood why some carriers consider shipping to Alaska international shipping. I might understand if it's surface transport, but I'd be willing to bet most mail gets put on a plane in the lower 48 and flown in, not trucked through Canada.
