New CDC report, teen vaping wayyyy up

Well this can't be good. The CDC has released a statement with figures showing vaping has tripled among teens in the last year. While I still think vaping is better then real cigs even for youths, I see heavier regulation of sales due to this use.

To have a meaningful discussion about this stat, we need two more: what are the numbers with vaping in adults over a comparable period? What's happened to teen cigarette use during that time?

Just a hunch, but I'd bet the numbers for adults picking up vaping are comparable and that teen tobacco use is down. I'd then conclude that kids that would have ended up smoking in previous generations (I started when I was 15-16 myself) are vaping instead, and that although it's not ideal to have kids using vaporizers, they're a proven deterrent to tobacco use.
